  1. Also the comments on that story are turned off so you can't even try to respond lmao weirdest bad faith take I've seen from someone I feel is generally quite thoughtful

Guess I’ll pause on catching up on that release

Just a very aggressive way to backpeddle

Imo though I’ve always been kinda turned off by her social media personality. It’s always been kinda aggressive

  5. It's just never cool to snap at a marginalized community and then use your own marginalization as an excuse. Like, clearly this isn't anywhere near as bad as what Chapelle has done, but it is the same principle on a much smaller scale. If you have an issue with the commodification of queerness (which you should), take it up with the people who are commodifying it, not the people who are also being commodified

social media was a mistake and I’m sure if she stepped away for more than a day and thought about it and had conversations with those hurt by what she said we could get somewhere, but jumping back on a day later with a super passive aggressive post with comments turned off does not invite any sort of dialogue to move forward, more like “I said what I said and that’s that, deal with it” which again is the kind of discourse social media breeds

But the “bi people are soooo oppressed” comment speaks to a much MUCH wider issue of bi issues never being taken seriously within the LGBQT+ community because we aren’t as “oppressed” as other identities somehow our problems don’t actually matter? it’s a really shitty, really pervasive attitude that people don’t even really understand

All her comments on this suck, real defensive tone and strangely aggressive, and all just so unnecessary.

And her career will probably suffer more than any of the men accused of sexual assault in this thread. The standards for queer musicians are so much higher.

  9. I'm probably just taking this personally because I remain very guarded about my own queerness and orientation not only in real life, but even on this website for a variety of reasons, and shit like this coming from someone you admire validates that mindset, the feeling that I need to keep myself closeted from a community that would probably really support and benefit me. It makes me feel like I'm not allowed to be who I feel I am or that my queerness isn't enough. I don't think she's a monster like some of the people that come up in this thread, but it's invalidating and it sucks.

her career is going to be fine, but yes generally the fan bases of vocally queer artists hold said artists accountable more than the fan bases of shit heads who don’t care about anyone

Still won't mention him by name but I suppose better than ignoring what Austin did and the bands association. This was known by 11/15 weird to see him commenting 25 days later.

Half his band publicly said they aren't interested in being in dogleg anymore so they really should just hang it up.

I have no idea who’s speaking there. Alex is pretending like he wasn’t also the problem?

Where says they would never associate with anyone who "committed abuse of any kind"

Like...yourself? Really frustrating. I honestly think he's planning to bring the band back in 12 months and say he went to therapy.

It was about Dogleg I’m pretty sure. Dude tweeted some stuff that wasn’t necessary, all those tweets were one of the survivors calling them out, then all the tweets got deleted.

its entirely possible that song was written a pretty long time ago, considering it came out during the pandemic it wouldnt be shocking to me at all if they were sitting on it for years

she retracted her statement. now claiming he did work on the tracks and was properly credited.

she’s problematic enough on her own, working with dr luke just made her even more unlikeable.
