I didn't have Snail Mail being biphobic on my bingo card this year, but here we are (I presume)

Umm… I think more context is needed there but ok

I can delete if more context is needed/this isn't a malicious post, but it definitely reads as biphobic with the second sarcastic comment.

i don’t really get how the story itself is biphobic and must be missing something (though the tone of it isn’t great regardless), but the comment sucks

accusing women of writing about women solely for profit because they have a boyfriend is biphobic as fuck, unless she has specific examples and is ready to name names with proof there’s literally no need to say anything at all. and the comment is just icing on the cake.

Just chiming in that … IF A BI PERSON DATES SOMEONE OF THE OPPOSITE SEX THEY ARE STILL BI

    Hey. Supporter

My partner is bi. The amount of biphobia I’ve seen against them in the short time we’ve been dating has been so eye opening and really sucks.

Both me and my partner are bi. I’m a cis male. She’s a cis female. It’s mostly from within the LGBTQ+ community too which sucks even more. Apparently I’m gay but in denial and she’s just going through a phase. The “B” exists there for a reason!!!!

  9. Goddamn, that sucks. Really disappointing.

  11. Looks like she deleted it. Would be nice if she took some of the feedback to heart. I guess we'll see

Edit: was that originally intended for Phoebe? Orrrr

The rumor is it was intended @ Phoebe but I didn’t include that because it’s obviously just a rumor

yeah I mean me and my girlfriend are both bi and in a hetero relationship and none of this shit is new, we get it constantly

It was a story so it probably just went away after 24 hours. My screenshot was from Twitter so the time stamp isn’t accurate.

  15. Even if it is some weird targeted indie music subliminal, it's still a really shitty jab to throw and hurts a lot of people in the process

Glee was super biphobic it's been the case for awhile

Even if it is about Phoebe (and this isn’t the first time…back when Phoebe and Maggie covered Iris, Lindsey made a story about how her and Soccer Mommy covered it first, shading Phoebe), you don’t need to bring someone’s sexual preferences into your petty beef. It’s super gross and insensitive.

  20. Yeah, zooming out, speculating anyone’s sexuality bi or otherwise is dumb & harmful. I feel like I understand the point she tried to make here but it feels super misdirected

The second, much more questionable comment, was deleted a hours ago, so obv she knows she stepped in it. Would be nice to see her be vocal about walking it back though

im a fucking idiot. i took "women writing about women" as, like, a shot at music journalists and not a songwriting sense. yeah, fuck that, and fuck me for being a dumb dumb

  24. You can definitely have a problem with the commodification of queerness and not take it our on queer people, what is she talking about

I mean, for me, the stuff in that comments section kinda undercuts any attempts at good faith here
