i don't necessarily agree - i think in this situation, when there are accusations of actual pedophilia, i don't think any apology or any refute is ever good enough, but i have seen (admittedly not many) some statements or apologies if you will, that have seemed very genuine in the past, and not that my feelings matter in the least, but it always makes me feel a little better about the artist in question if it seems like they legitimately get it, that what they did was wrong/offensive/problematic/etc. and aren't just having their PR person whip something up in a minute.

An apology/statement is obviously never enough on its own but it is a necessary part of the accountability process and should be taken seriously. If someone can't even take responsibility for their actions and do so in a way that respects the rights of their accuser(s), literally the bare minimum, they don't deserve any kind of "rehabilitation" or "forgiveness" or whatever word one wants to use.

yeah but the point of an apology shouldn’t be to make people “feel better about the artist,” it should be about taking responsibility for what happened. to be honest most of them should take place privately with the parties involved and that’s it, going public with it is a self serving attempt to save face and more often than not try and make people “feel better about the artist,” you see what I’m getting at here?

almost all of these kinds of things can be and should be handled privately beginning to end. only problem is, more often than not, a victim reaches out privately and is ignored or brushed off repeatedly and they have no choice but to go public. and then at that point the offender in question feels like they have to go public. if these men accused of wrongdoing would just listen to the victims wishes from the jump half these situations wouldn’t escalate to the level they do

And in the case of a band at the level of an All Time Low with the clout in the scene they have, they're probably just going to continue on like nothing ever happened. I'd love to be proven wrong though

This reminds me, Dr. Luke essentially stole Avril Lavigne's "Ex-Girlfriend" from Butch Walker which Butch detailed in excess in his autobiography but had to change Dr. Luke's name to "Larry" for legal purposes. This guy is such a fuckhead.

Good on them for doing this knowing how financially difficult it is for touring musicians to not tour. Shows they really give a shit. Love MM@TA and respect to n,n. too.

And it does sound like they are making up a few of the shows, albeit to much smaller crowds.

Those are different markets so I wouldn’t call them makeups, just new shows.

Alex posted on his story that ATL will be playing their show tonight.

Truly sucks for people who learn about how shitty they are and now can't get refunds because the band is deciding to play.

Would love to be able to go to one of those MM@TA/n,n. shows to support them but none of them are near me sadly.

I kinda wish this had all broken before ATL hit Richmond, because if MM@TA had dropped off and done their own thing when they were in town, I 100% would've gone to support them. I've never been a huge ATL person anyway and knowing what we all know now (even though the rumors have been around FOR YEARS!) I'd feel weird and squicky supporting ATL with a ticket purchase.
