some of the aspects of that nicole/lou diamond show are so gross too. basically a whole "fuck you" to the concept of restorative justice in that they're using the idea of it solely to benefit themselves and give them a platform, the fact that show was run by a "publishing company" with only one post focusing on healing and justice is just so so so gross

 

That's the big problem I have with the way this scene uses the term. Just removing all meaning from a concept truly put into practice by communities of colour — esp. Black Americans — to protect their communities against a white supremacist justice system, in order use it to the benefit of privileged white abusers is just a whole new kind of gross.

 

Lou diamond is the person who was in jank, right? I believe they went by a few different names and used to show up on my facebook feed frequently, which is why I'm unsure.

considering the stories that have been made public about that person, probably "worse" (for lack of a better word) than most accusations, it absolutely blows my mind that someone would think they're someone who deserves to be reintegrated into their scene a year after they were outed.
