Regardless of what you’re on, you’re still held accountable. I hate that guise so much.

  2. I dunno. For me, "trying to have my wife murdered" falls firmly into the category of "I am never ever ever going to like this dude and he doesn't deserve a comeback pretty much no matter what he does and I'm not fussed about whether or not that's fair"

Using the excuse that he was on 'roids is no different than a frat boy using the "i was drunk" defense. Exactly. It doesn't excuse your actions. I just don't see how anyone could be cool with Tim at this point. Completely baffles me.

Damn, I didn't see the Ryan Adams stuff posted last week, Idk how to internalize it, the guys music has helped me so much in life but he is so damned hard to defend.

Idk what to feel about Tim Lambesis being a case manager/counselor, I work in the industry and yeah a lot of us who work in it have done some pretty bad things in life (those in recovery) and can only hope for forgiveness, but attempted murder? Just a few years ago? Unforgivable.

  12. I think there’s a certain level to his rationale that says “the system failed me so I’m taking my anger out like this” as some type of excuse for his actions and it makes me sick.

I have a lot of feelings about Tim pursuing social work. I believe people are capable of change and growth and that people who have been thru the struggle are often able to engage and work with clients in a way that's special and necessary. I believe people can come back from terrible things. And sometimes that means rooting for people you'd never root for otherwise. However given his crime and the fact that, similar to Louis ck, he doesn't seem to get the backlash or upset over occupying the space he so clearly wants to thrust himself back into with little to no thoughts of the implications of that or who it impacts negatively, it's a hard pass from me.

That's my biggest issue with this entire thing. I could care less what Lambesis does in his personal life now that he's out of prison. If he wants to make an attempt to turn his life around and dedicate himself to the greater good with social work, that's his prerogative, and godspeed.

But to start your career again in a space without appearing to consider how you abused and squandered the platform you were given as the frontman of a Christian metalcore band? Without appearing to consider the victim at all (at least in the media I've seen around AILD's return - you couldn't pay me to watch that 30 minute video explaining their return)? I just can't get behind that at all.

How do those venues compare to what they used to play? Only recognize the club in Berlin which is considerably smaller (450 max) than what they usually play (especially in Europe where this stuff is so popular), which I feel is a reason they've been able to sell so many out, assuming they're playing similar rooms elsewhere.

I also think people are having trouble putting Tim's actions in perspective. Like, what he did is so unbelievably crazy and divergent from normal behaviour, plus the fact that ultimately he failed in his attempt that it's hard for some people to grasp the gravity of what happened.

Vinnie just canceled his and Brandon's show in Boston due to concerns regarding the venue, apparently due to something sexual assault related judging from one of the comments.

I'm a huge fan of Vinnie's and I'm happy that he's doing the right thing. I just unfollowed Matt Skiba and Travis Barker bc I was getting sick of their social media bs and it's nice to see one of my favorite musicians not be an asshat on the internet.

It’s The Middle East in Cambridge. I believe there have been issues with some of the people that run the shows there.

Yeah, the whole Middle East thing has been sketchy. From my understanding, one of the owners is an abuser and there were some coverups, and then when they finally acknowledged it, they took the “we’re looking into it but ehhhhh” approach. Relatively recently they made a statement saying the perp no longer was hands on with the business but he still owns the place. Or something like that.

Yeah, I haven't heard much, but The Middle East gets a ton of shows. Upstairs and down, I'm seeing The Twilight Sad there next Tuesday. Boston proper isn't the best for mid-range venues, Great Scott is great but small, Brighton Music Hall is decent, but Middle East up and down get a lot of touring acts.
