    run away with me Platinum

Katy being dragged into all this is such a mess, I don't know how they even got Kesha and Gaga's texts

Maybe that's the real punk rock.

Yeah I actually remember all that stuff coming out at the time. The charges were dropped cause they didn't have any evidence but it's mad how quickly it got swept under the carpet.

At this point, I just hope he's a totally different person who grew from the experience, but for some reason he still seems like a fucking massive bellend.

It got swept under the carpet because nobody gave a shit at the time and bmth were one of the biggest bands in the scene let alone the UK market.

i will never understand why it is the biggest names in the scene that end up being the shittiest people. on top of that, a lot of them blow up even after news comes out of them being awful.

oh yeah, i've been hearing BMTH tracks in mainstream EDM sets and the possibility of them collabing with post malone. when abusers get rewarded, it's such a blow

Nnnnnnnnn @ William. Also I guess I haven't seen him in a while cause I didn't recognize him. I guess I always just paid attn to his hair and not his facial features. Anyway that's awful and disappointing

My friend knows William Beckett personally and despite being a survivor of abuse and very hardline "always believe victims" she's pulling the whole "I don't know, it could be photoshopped" routine.

She'll come around but it has proven to me that sometimes people just go through denial.

  15. I can't believe I didn't know about it! It puts a different light to the interviews he did during the last few eras where he briefly mentioned his various relationships. Now that I think about it, the main concept around the new album irks me. If his definition of love includes being an abuser and a woman beater, which I guess he won't admit ever being one, he can fuck off.

dunno why any of you are surprised by who gets exposed anymore. a former (white) scene heartthrob who wrote songs about girls breaking his heart is like the prime candidate for this type of shit.

Doesn't make it hurt any less when it's someone you looked up to.

not surprised.. disappointed. guess it should just be expected at this point.

Meeting even one musician in my life has led me to never look up to people like this. Just a bunch of fucked dudes who got decent at an instrument or writing songs. They’re normal people, and normal people can be massively fucked in their own lives, especially if they have even a shred of power.

Kill your idols, eat the rich, etc etc.

even those who aren’t “normal people,” literal prodigies and geniuses who posses talent beyond comprehension, are capable of being awful people who do awful things. sometimes even more so.

but yes everyone from the scene is just some normal guy who got decent at singing or playing.

He's an abusive piece of shit whose behaviour has been tolerated by his complicit bandmates instead of called out by people he'd actually listen to. Fuck him and fuck BMTH.

the BMTH stuff has been pretty common knowledge, at least I thought so, for a long long time too. Like before I ever heard a song by them I heard of shit Oli had done, back in like 09. Yet they still got and continue to get propped up by a ton of people on ap/chorus. Positive reviews and all.

I dunno, it feels like there's an air of superiority at times. People look up to musicians and when they are let down, it's going to be surprising and hurtful.

There isn't really any need to say "Why are you even surprised" or "Don't look up to people". How is that helpful?

(not arguing here just making a point)

Never surprised when any man get accused of this stuff tbh. Just sucks when it feels like new ones come out constantly like a stream every day and as a woman it sucks when it feels like decent men are like the minority and having to navigate thru this bs all the time is defeating. Echoing the not surprised just disappointed sentiment
