There’s some good in there even though it isn’t perfect, but does that author know about David Foster Wallace’s own stories of abuse? I can’t tell if they are drawing a conclusion about losing a terrible person who you loved or just losing a person period.

There's definitely a banner on both the mobile and desktop versions of Spotify. This is gross. It's a little more subtle on the desktop app, but it's there. It's only visible if you hit "Browse" otherwise I don't see it at all.

They’d have to. I knew about his personal life before I’d heard a lick of music. I actually wouldn’t have heard any until I looked it up wanting to hear the Travis Barker tune. I didn’t listen long. Horrendous stuff

 

I'm going back to school next year and got into an argument with the group chat I was added in over how he's a piece of shit. Okay maybe it was dumb to try to fight a bunch of 17 year olds who think his music was good because they think he's was the only dude who wrote about suicide and that it was, I quote, "soooo relatable you know" (unironical sic) but at least now my whole promotion knows I'm a sjw

It’s not unsolvable. He made trite music that appealed to (mostly) immature and emotionally volatile teens and pre-teens, and spent much of his life abusing and terrorizing the people he should have cared about the most.
