I really really wish Spotify would've let whoever these artists threatening to pull were do it so we would know for sure who supports xxx. Really just in full fuck Spotify mode now

 

I’m also genuinely unaware who has more leverage in this situation. Feels like both the artists and Spotify need each other

 

I'd say the artists because Spotify has endless amounts of other hugely popular artists in all kinds of genres that will still bring them streams

 

Y'all should go with Apple Music. Sounds better anyway.

 

Yeah, some of the huge artists have some pull, and being seen as the "anti-artist" streaming service is probably not great. But by and large if your music isn't there people will probably pirate it again.

Spotify botched this roll out more than anything. I'm wondering if there's legal/anti-trust stuff that could happen if all the music services got together to put a policy together they all agreed on. Otherwise, there's a competitive advantage to being the "service that has Kendrick" even if you have to be the one that also keeps XXX in your playlists.

Spotify desktop wouldn’t work at all when I used it years ago

 

it was a nightmare i endured from 2011 til apple music launched. awful local file integration, horribly complex to manage. apple music you just drag and drop the album folder into the application and it automatically puts it with your library.

 

Actually Spotify premium has slightly high quality than apple. But yea I love my apple
Music even if it takes an hour to get a record I buy onto my Apple Music library

 

Not necessarily all skeletons are abuse, but yeah I feel like it's a weird protective boys club thing that I do not understand

 

Apple music was legit garbage on my phone and crashed multiple times a day

same and I'm like obsessive over how the scrobbles are catalogued I have to change metadata all the time for songs so that it looks nice in the database

I like knowing what I listened to at the end of the year.

 

maybe now that i dont listen to music when i sleep i can scrobble without having tim hecker reach a million plays in a week

 

I like being able to go back in time and seeing what I was listening to during certain periods of my life. It’s like journaling for me in a way

 

Scrobbling is a bad reminder that I’ve played RHCP songs over 2000 times

 

i do this in my mind and i sort my apple music by date added

 

dude the same thing happens to me with grouper and Olafur Arnalds. Sometimes I turn it off for that reason.
