Also, I've never been a huge BN fan, I mainly know the hits, but I'm looking at the setlist and ai don't recognize like a good half of the songs... Are these deep cuts?

I feel like overall the scalper/bots have turned into a somewhat of a positive at the moment for the consumer….bands/management are misreading the market so bands are playing larger venues (even Beyonce had trouble selling this tour) so scalpers lose money ..any fan who wants to go gets a ticket and the tickets become cheaper on the scalpers dime

My feeling is this Brand New tour is a one time thing. People who didn't get to see them/still wanted to see them will get their fix but likely won't go 3-4 times.

 

Insane way to handle this when one of the allegations is that she was too controlling.

 

Idk, I'm definitely glad the survivor finding peace and resolving things with her abuser (which never seems to happen) but I'm also left not really knowing what to do with the information we have. She says we should be able to forgive the abuser since she is and that we shouldn't "ruin her life," but now that I know what this person has done, I don't think I have a ton of interest in supporting her or listening to her music. Pandora's box is kind of a one-way thing. I guess that could change if she actually implements change in her life, but how are we supposed to know that?

I know to expect bottom of the barrel disgusting shit from Lambgoat comments sections and yet each time I still manage to walk away even more disappointed knowing that these people are actually like this.

All I'm going to say is that this situation really hurt as someone who has had many struggles with gender identity. I felt seen and represented with SYSC's music and now I don't know what to feel about any of it. But my personal feelings of hurt and betrayal are not nearly as important as what the victim of Connie's behavior went through.

Since I just remembered Swans released a new album recently, did anything more happen with those allegations from 2016 or did they just get swept under the rug? I don't even see them mentioned on respective Wikipedia pages, and everywhere is just treating the band like their old revered icons without a mention to them.

In general they seem to get a little less press/coverage/attention/fawning now than the pre-allegation days - no more Karen O showing up on albums and the like. Seeing them live in the My Father Will Guide Me....era was admittedly incredible, but I don't engage much with the music anymore since then and I think quite a few others feel the same way.

 

damn. That’s fucking awful. I actually just started listening to them a couple years ago and saw them last year. Hadn’t heard anything about this.

 

Apparently the accusation was withdrawn and a lot of people close to her questioned her story, but I haven't been able to listen to them since.

I thought i'd found a replacement for them with Daughters, but then their singer turned out to be a **** too.

 

i’d rather listen to sleep, bell witch, elder or the body than swans anyways.

 

which era of daughters were you a fan of? i feel like their earliest stuff can easily be replaced. the later stuff was just a jesus lizard ripoff.

This made me feel sick. I know Tait’s sexuality has been a sort of “open secret” in the industry for decades now, but to finally know the truth about the multiple assaults he committed after being raised to look up to him as a kid has got me in my feelings right now.
