Just a reminder that last night and tonight are two of the smallest venues on this tour. And even then more than half the tickets were dumped on second hand sites.
Sharing again a up to date seating map for a show in a few weeks at an arena:

I'm in plenty of subreddits, hell even other band subs and they're nowhere as creepy as the BN sub. It's seriously like a cult and fucking weird.

 

It would be one thing if it was a bunch of obsessive teenagers (still fucked, mind you), but the fact that it’s primarily dudes in their 30s and 40s is really fucking unsettling.

Like seriously what the fuck. I get nostalgia is one hell of a drug but c'mon. I don't get the whole shouting from the rooftops this crowd has going on like it's a badge of honor. Cringe as fuck.

 

Going to some local bar and with all the other fucking weird shit going on in the world gotta be like half worried in the back of my mind if someone asks me about music they're gonna go full psycho on me is insane.

I’ve said this here before. The band nor the promoter came into this expecting these shows to sell out. No one knew what kind of reception there would be, but they knew there would be some. A venue selling $5 tickets in the nosebleeds is still a ticket sold and as someone mentioned - more money for merch and bar sales. The promoter would rather sell 8K tickets in a 15K venue vs. 5K tickets in a 5K venue. The venue loses more money not being open than holding an event.

 

I ain't mentioning "crowd size" around any cop. Just sayin!

 

I know a lot of promoters, I don't know any that would be happy about prices going for bargain basement. Unless purposefully doing an undersell, you do want to be behind demand on a venue, but you don't want to be so far behind demand that you book a giant venue and don't make a good return for everyone. That shit costs fixed money (staff, electricity, etc.). When that happens, usually that means the next tour ends up being in smaller venues.

 

Yeah people don’t seem to realize that even if the band got a guarantee this time, they are never getting one again based on the secondary market absolutely getting bludgeoned. If scalpers didn’t buy these tickets, these venues would be 30-50 percent sold. That is very, very bad for venues like the Wamu and Theater of the Clouds that don’t have shows that sell this bad on the secondary market. This is pretty much unheard of for those venues. Last night you could be up front for $10 since it’s a mostly GA venue. Tonight tickets are going for 20 % of the face value on stubhub. That’s absolutely embarrassing for scalpers and the band. I don’t see how anyone could be positive about the bands long term ability to draw in the future. They will be lucky to play clubs and I don’t think their ego would even allow that unless they are desperate lol

 

Yeah the band and promoter absolutely thought they could sell out these venues. And that’s why we keep harping on crowd sizes. It’s not just that the band is active again, it’s that they really thought they could return after those awful allegations and somehow be bigger than they’ve ever been.

 

I think AEG gave up on deleting comments on the Portland shows the last few weeks. I was very proud to see all advertisements on FB for the show have very anti Jesse comments and anyone who defended him was shut down immediately. Actually saw a few people that didn’t know about the allegations find out by tagging friends who instantly said “no thanks, Jessie is an abuser”. Love to see it lol

I frequent a bunch of vinyl groups on FB and they are very excited about BN repressing the whole catalog for the tour.

Also unrelated but I bought a dozen of the most insane shirts I could find online as bachelor party gifts back in 2022 and whole I love the one I kept for myself ("I ONLY LIKE DOLPHINS AND LIZZIE MCGUIRE"), there are some days I wish I kept the one of Sonic and Knuckles making out that just says JOE ROGAN PODCAST lol

 

I've only ever come here to read her comments from an article I saw on another section of reddit, I do not lurk their reddit or post on it. I did not provide any opinion on much besides my love of burritos, but thank you for painting me as an enemy because I pointed out that it's loser shit to spend so much time worrying about something you "hate".
