yes, because i think it’s an important to gauge the overall public opinion of the band and whether or not this band is still garnering support. that way, had the sales gone the opposite direction, the scene could make more steps in (re)informing why the band shouldn’t have the platform anymore. especially when being online kinda distorts the perception of how popular the band is / was.

i personally had thought a lot more people would’ve gone despite the controversy, just out of my own pessimism towards the situation and expecting the worst, so there has been solace in seeing reports on how the first show has flopped. may there be many more of those until there are no more shows at all.

I was worried Sonic had some allegations.

If I had that tattoo, I would curl up in a ball and spin aggressively in place until finally launching myself to the nearest tattoo shop to get it covered up.

 

So genuinely curious, is there any precedent for a band if their "size/legacy" to do an entire tour without an opener (assuming they do)? I saw the Rejects by themselves at a county fair a few weeks ago, but I can't think of an example of an entire tour.

Yes. With the rest of the world going to hell and feeling like the bad guys are winning at almost every step as they infiltrate every part of our lives, government, and fill the space of the day with gutter trash, these little wins are like pure dopamine. Both openers quit the Arcade Fire tour in 2022 after the allegations came out. And a quick google tells me fans think there won’t be an opener for their upcoming tour. But Arcade Fire is a much bigger band than BN.
