Amy from The Interrupters has a history of libertarianism, supporting Alex Jones, and being very ery defensive when asked about it. The Defiant started as a band because they were all kicked out of their other bands because they wouldn't get vaccinated and took their band name from that. Street Dogs have been doing some shows with them and Al Barr, who curiously doesn't have time to go back to Dropkick (while they have been very openly anti Trump) but does have time to do shows with them, and in the past has used the f slur to tell people to come to a show, and the Dwarves are one of the most misogynistic bands in the punk world.

As for Al Barr, I'll take it a step further and add that he's been at the same festivals the Murphys have been at and took the time to get on-stage and sing a song with the Defiant but was nowhere to be found during the Murphys set...

It's pretty obvious they cut the cord over political differences (and social ones; that f-slur video was the start of a pretty huge rift if what I've heard from folks in the "scene" is true). Barr has always had "old punk guy fuck you don't tell me I'm wrong fuck PC" energy, anyway. So fuck that guy.

 

He also wrote an entire album about him actually being the victim in that scenario. He can fuck right the fuck off.

That's the resale market for their Houston show in 30 days. 8 bucks! Confirms my suspicions that the majority of ticket sales for these arena shows were scalpers thinking they can make a payday. And makes me happy to see how many of these shows still have half the venue still for sale, even with the tour starting this month.

 

I think that’s the correct mindset for people who personally know him and are in his life. But I think the general public should just ignore him as he does not deserve our attention.
