Like, this topic could have ended so many times already but some people want to get one last dig in. I only added the further news because everyone else was so adamant about not moving on. I tried to start a new topic of conversation. If you really want it to die, stop posting about it.

This is a really terrible thing to say. No one is "an example of gender dysphoria" and to reduce an entire personhood to that is gross and transphobic af. You could have easily just said that they chose to de-transition and become trump supporter spewing hateful things. You make it sound like they're a lab experiment instead.
That was absolutely far from my intention and my point by "example" was like a spokesperson similar to Laura Jane Grace. I meant that went from being a visible force for people with dysphoria to a visible opponent.

Nah, I think Aaron's patience with me has been deteriorating over the course of this thread, which bums me out because I am legitimately not trying to be a troll or whatever.
I don't even to know where to begin with this. If you meant spokesperson then say that. People love to claim that they are trans friendly, then still say the most vile things and claim they meant different. It's not hard to go "does this dehumanize someone" before speaking. You seem really caught up on the word dysphoria, as if it's just people with a little dysphoria, and not being actually trans. Like if they could just cure the dysphoria they'd be fine living as the dead gender. On top of that, someones reason to transition, and then de-transition is incredibly personal. Remove the fact that Caputo is a Trump supporter who actively works against trans people, saying someone decision to de-transition as strange and sad makes it sound like trans people are a circus exhibit to you gawk at and wonder about. They aren't strange and sad because they transitioned. Just like everyone else thats falls into the Q-hole and MAGA hatred they suck but for that reason, not because they ever question their gender one way or another.
I still stand by the fact that it's so incredibly dumb that if you have someone blocked on this site, they can still see your posts and it's not a mutual blocking.
You're reading a lot more into what I said than I even remotely intended, and I don't know your situation or how this ties to you, so I'm not about to unpack that. All I can say is I'm using "gender dysphoria" because it's the term they themselves used to describe themselves and their situation, and what I find strange and sad is again solely about the turnaround from being an ally to an enemy and absolutely nothing to do with their personal decisions regarding themselves.
It sucks that the most famous examples of people detransitioning to the average person are the people who are vocal participants in modern day transphobic reactionary bullshit. (Which is obviously fueled in no small part by institutions either actively hating trans people, or just not giving a shit.) Here’s an episode of Matt Bernstein’s A Bit Fruity on the topic, with a guest who “detransitioned,” if that’d be helpful for anyone: And yeah. Poorly worded posts aside, it is sad to see how people who publicly identified as trans can find themselves as part of the movement to eliminate trans people. Who knows what these individuals’ reasoning is, the specifics aren’t my business. But whether or not each person would’ve chosen to “detransition” in a better world… All the ways fascism preys on people are vile and tragic.
(The last few pages are one of these cases where a mod could firmly instructs everyone to move on from a hot topic and eventually locks the thread for a few hours to defuse any tension if users don't follow that rule. Not going to say I didn't enjoy some of the shitposts that came out of the derailment but at some point something must be done to not let the discourse get that far.)
