Yeah, other than the very strange "we're young people" lingo, this did not so much read as "we kicked him out" but rather "he's gone for now and we have every intention of letting him back in after people forget about this". Side note, I've never heard of this band and reading this statement makes me want to go back to two hours ago when they were still anonymous to me.
They've broken up apparently. Talking like this at all is pretty cringe but it's especially embarrassing in statements about such a sensitive topic.
I remember hearing young thug and lil Wayne using that term like a decade ago. Glad to know the rap lingo to young hardcore kid lingo pipeline is still around
The state of youth culture and slang is pretty depressing. I had an assignment where kids were tasked with making a mood board for a hypothetical Dazed and Confused like movie set during their time in HS. The majority of the boards were brainrot memes, Charlie Kirk and fucking Epstein lol. The kids are cooked.
my twin sister teaches first grade, and she says it's been a nightmare trying to get them to calm down about stuff like 6-7 (she also taught a higher grade a couple years ago and all the boys in her class talked about how they loved Andrew Tate)
I am not noticing the Andrew Tate/right wing shit outside of the real weirdos, but they are pretty quickly ostracized for those opinions. Irony poisoning is rampant though
