Yes, but I believe that was nearly a decade ago. I don't really think they've learned much from it (even Yorke walking things back recently only seems due to extreme backlash), but I also feel like it's probably worth noting it was some time ago.

You know….a few years back I mentioned my love for David Bazan and Pedro the Lion to a friend of mine who works in the film industry. He’s got a lot of friends who are musicians and when I mentioned David, he paused and told me he’d heard bad things from a female friend of his. Said that she was touring with him and one night she woke up on the couch and David was just sitting there staring at her. All I remember is that he offered her some excuse about what he was doing, but she was deeply uncomfortable and tried to stay away from him. That’s all I remember from the story and it certainly gave me some pause at the time, but reading this above story now, god I don’t know what to think. David meant a lot to me many years ago when I was deconstructing and feeling very isolated and lonely. Feels more and more like I should listen to people who tell me not to have heroes.
Yeah, I’ve seen him live more than any other artists. Was super into him for many years. Every time I’ve seen him since his divorce, he’s just stoned and his on stage banter is bullying and mean. I remember he said talked about how there was someone who “punished” him at the show the night before in thr audience. Like called this person out on mic. I couldn’t believe it. Like this was a paying fan who loves your music, that’s so shitty
this stuff sounds weird at best and pretty concerning at worst/most realistic but just to be clear a fan paying to attend a show does not entitle them to be a pest to the artist lol
