just for the record, he cried about his brother in the navy, which I did not know about, when I enthusiastically brought up the hypothetical of a US ship getting sunk by the Lebanese based “Party of God” when Lebanon and shitsrael were fighting during the 1st year of the Gaza Genocide.
Thursday bringing Chris Conley out on tour this year is a choice. Anti-Flag and Brand New taught me to never look at any band or group of people in music as heroes or “good people”. I cannot tell you the disappointment I feel that I can’t blast anti-Flag in this fascist hellscape we’re all in. But instead of listening to them, I’ve learned that my actions matter so much more than my memories of a very large influence on my worldview. It’s not punk rock if I’m not putting actions into my local community, and just leaning on someone else’s experiences to inform my takes. I have had a lot of growing to do these last few years in my relationship with music and the scene at large. Never stop trying to learn from the past, and find ways to be a better person through listening and applying knowledge into actions. I still have so much more to learn.
Yeah, I’d love to see Thursday again, but I won’t support Chris. I’d say I’m surprised how quickly the scene forgot and moved on, but maybe it’s just this site that covered it…? Idk, the whole timer thing still weirds me out.
Yep, I'd love to hit up the Columbus show on that Thursday tour, but I'm not giving CC any money. Beyond disappointed they're including him in this.
honestly when i saw that, i thought maybe i should just leave the venue while he's on (if i decide to go at all) like, it's not even Saves The Day, its JUST Conley. which honestly makes it worse.
SHINEDOWN's BARRY KERCH Calls Rapper LUDACRIS 'A Coward' For Pulling Out Of KID ROCK's 'Rock The Country' Festival Ugh. Look, if you want to bury your head in the sand and "just play a show" without any compassion for the optics, whatever, but then turning around and knocking someone for having integrity is disappointing.
Ah yes.. the classic, “I just want to play a show and everyone should keep their politics to themselves.”
Forgive me, but what's the issue, is it just about the WWE in general? Nu-metal and wrestling have collaborated for decades, so what am I missing? Honestly asking.
Going back at least 7 years I think? WWE has hosted shows there for huge amounts of money. The first few shows women weren’t even allowed to be there and later shows the women have to wear full body suits with minimal skin showing. It’s a super gross arrangement and one of many reasons I do not watch WWE anymore.
Mike Shinoda rapidly reaching that same tier of artist as Steph Carpenter where I enjoy their contributions to music but goddamn are they stupid as shit.
