At Christmas, my dad's wife unironically introduced her AI bot to me as her friend so.... I'd say it's only going to get worse.

My dad asked me about AI at Christmas because he said he was looking on YouTube and saw a "song I'd never heard of" from one of his favorite artists and listened and could tell was not real, did some digging, found out it was AI, and he was like "fuck this" and got super pissed off. Led to a good old parent rant.

my partner's sister was playing us songs she discovered either via TikTok or Apple Music's discovery features, and proceeded to play us an artist that did decent-ish rock covers of pop songs, only to come back a day later and say "whoops, turns out they're AI" and removing all their songs off her playlists. guess there's hope for discernment after all

 

I was at a Christmas Eve service and they had this big ass video presentation that was all AI rip-off Pixar nonsense. Told my family they deserve a lump of coal for playing that.
