It’s a start. I can appreciate a person doing the work to listen, help others heal, and find meaning through actual accountability to the people who were badly hurt by Justin. I’m not sure what else people could possibly want from Chris, Chris2 and Pat other than staying quiet online but doing very important internal work offline for the last 2 years. That’s not nothing.

I wrote this entire thing. I know my writing was used to “train” AI (with no compensation) but like … if these tools are this bad at it for my own work, I kinda refuse to trust them as proof of anything to be honest.
I've read stories about students who fully write essays and it's flagged as AI, then it tells you which words flagged it, so they just change the specific words and re submit until it isn't flagged anymore. Sounds so doomed.
AI checkers are garbage. Also can’t stand the idiots pointing out em dashes and screaming AI as well.
I'm applying for grad school and I'm worried about the AI checker tools tbh. I tend to write in a sort of technical way that I once had an ex describe as robotic and that was before AI existed in the form it does today lol so I just worry it will flag when it's just me having a dry technical writing style. I guess we'll see!
from experience, your run-ins with checker tools will vary. i know that AI tools and chatbots have only become fairly prevalent in the past few years (primarily after i finished coursework), but i think i only had one class in grad school that had us submit papers through a plagiarism checking tool. i could definitely see them being more prevalent now, but in my experience (both as a student and as a teacher), most professors/instructors will read papers manually and only refer to the results of a checker if necessary (even though i had it implemented for my students when i taught a course, but again, this was shortly before AI chatbots really took off). plagiarism accusations definitely happen in grad school, but less so than with undergraduate coursework. most of the time, people want to be there and put in the work to generate quality papers to submit for publication/present at conferences. depending on your field, that can look a bit more standardized and technical. i'd say that if you do have any run-ins with checkers and they flag something concerning for your professor, definitely talk with them about it, showing them that you know the material and put in the work. more often than not, they're incredibly understanding, and can tell the difference between someone who genuinely cares about the subject matter and someone who's coasting.
Yeah, I mistakenly claimed a flyer was AI and sourced the AI checker. Someone here corrected me with the actual artists Insta showing them working on it sans AI.
