Knowing Nothing and Nicky, the AI use in the video is probably intentional to create some kind of philosophical or artistic statement to be contrarian or troll, but yeah. it ain't a great look.

The biggest statement one can make against AI is to just not use it and broadcast that fact as loudly as possible.

 

Even if AI weren't killing the environment, where's the joy in having a computer create your idea? Great, fulfilling art is made from finding ways to execute on your vision – having a computer spit that out is not fulfilling or even art.

I read a stat recently (don’t quote me on this) that said manufacturing one T-shirt uses the same water consumption as 1.3 million prompts. Jeans are like 5.4 million or something? No real point besides seeing a joke shirt about AI made me think about it juxtaposed.

I’ll be honest, I’m one of those people that never really understood how AI consumes so much power/resources or how all that works and how it gets made and gotta give a round of applause to this post because while I don’t fully understand it, this post helped clarify and make sense of the environmental fuck ups AI is causing/will cause more than anything I’ve read previously. And in one paragraph no less!
