This feels like almost the reverse of 'accountability' but Dropkick Murphys announced today they wouldn't be making any more Punk in the Park performances (stating they didn't cancel because they didn't want to fuck over fans). They said some shit on-stage at the festival too.

Hoping to see more of this energy from the bigger artists on these shows.

 

Yep. Looking at Descendants, Bad Religion and Pennywise to do the same. This festival circuit literally wouldn’t exist without those three bands.

 

My coworker was on a flight with the Descendents as they were flying to punk in the park, but I don't know that she knew who they were. I think she found out in like a "aw you look like cool nice men. Oh you're in a band? Which one?" And I was like nooooo you should've asked them about punk in the park and Trump!! And then I made her listen to my diatribe.

Incidentally, it should be of immense shame that the Democratic Party has so thoroughly dropped the ball on the topic of foreign wars and being the anti-war party that so many people viewed Donald Trump as the anti-war candidate.

I agree, but also Trump did pretty much exactly what he promised in his campaign: Lower taxes (for the rich), anti LGBTQ and mass deportations. Those were simply not issues to that moron because it was all self interest.

 

"I'm not a bigot, I just voted for one despite him repeatedly saying on the campaign trail that he would do vile bigoted shit, continue to support Israel, and had no concrete economic agenda. Because I wanted a shot at lower taxes."
