I loved the band until I found out really bad things about them?

I'll be honest, I don't really get on with Jason and I think he knows why lol, but calling him a pedophile and making stuff up because you had an argument with him is insane and I don't think this website is any worse because those people aren't on it.

 

One of the hallmarks of being in a cult is denying that you're in a cult. I get the nostalgia attachment to Brand New's songs if they hit for you at a specific time in your life, but it's stunning that people can't just admit that two things can be true: they wrote great songs AND their singer (and maybe to a lesser extent the other bandmembers) took advantage of the same idol worship they're somehow still getting to do some pretty disgusting things.

These people are old enough to have kids of their own and are simping hard for the guy who wrote Seventy Times Seven.

my favorite post is the person who has hated jason since the first day they found the site (assuming they meant AP as i recognize the username) but also has at least 3000 posts on said site lol

 

I am going to be 42 in two months, I have a boring ass "real" job, I write about some pop punk bands for fun and run this little community here that's grown to over 6 million posts and mostly is pretty cool people that don't cause too much drama or shit at this point ... I am way too old for this Reddit shit.

 

Sounds like something a conformist would say!

 

Now I feel bad about abandoning the band during their time of being total shitheads!

 

this is the way….i actually really do like Reddit and most of the communities there but unfortunately sometimes the rabbit holes go a little too deep

 

It's a great feedreader for sports I follow. That's about it for me.

 

I didn't even know what my Reddit username was bc I only rarely use it and I had to scroll quite a bit to find Jasons reply. I gave it an upvote lol

I'm curious to see if any of them actually reply.

 

Sadly, Reddit is quite useful for advice for certain topics and discussion that Google is no longer good at finding because their search engine sucks and other message boards shut down over the years.

That Reddit wants to act like nothing happened and to have permission to act as such. My belief that pretending nothing happened isn't healthy while also very much believing people can listen to problematic art without being defined by it, I guess?, goes against that fiber.

The notion that AP was a more welcoming and friendly community than Chorus is so funny

When it was AP I only came here to talk about Lost and then dipped.

When it became Chorus, I became fully onboard. That's the difference.

Also funny the people pointing out AP was nuked to Hell. Like yeah, it was full of the worst shit that most of us were very not proud of saying when we were young, dumb and mean.
