I'm not involved in that Reddit or really anything at all on Reddit. That said, it's truly funny that random people who have never met Jason think they know him well enough to make character judgements on traits like arrogance based off how he runs this website or his comments/actions on Brand New and other bands both pre & post allegations. I don't always agree with Jason but I actually think he's been pretty darn consistent in his stance, statements and actions throughout this rocky period in music.

It also isn't lost on me that they aren't recognizing their own hypocrisy by complaining about holier than thou judgments and online cyber bullying of BN fans by Chorus users while themselves engaging in a holier than thou thread on Reddit created to cyber bully Jason.

That said - these forums do suffer from having room for only a singular perspective, particularly within this accountability thread, and any who think differently are gang belittled and made out to be inferior or less evolved. I personally don't always instantly believe everything I read on the internet and many here would say that makes me a terrible person...but just as in the case of the Reddit users not knowing Jason, they don't know me.

Now...in the case of Brand New...the evidence, the confession and apology etc are all very clear so in this case I can understand the frustrations people have towards fans just wanting people to get over it so they can selfishly hear more from what was inarguably a great genre defining band of massive influence. The victims and the abuse need to matter more than the selfish desires of fans to get their music fix and sometimes the scope and length and severity of these actions are not redeemable. I personally believe Jesse falls in that category but will not go out of my way to trash anyone who thinks differently.

Here's to hoping for a quiet 2025 in this thread. I'm exhausted from trying to keep up with the disappointing and disgusting behaviors consistently brought to light here.

This thing where the alt-right started to weaponize "allegations" by just making shit up and thinking if you say it enough it's real has been a trend over the last few years, but this abject need to defend the band to this level is wild to me.
