Morgan Wallen literally has the biggest album of the year still. Definitely a high profile artist and a situation that merited being brought up in here.

 

This convo is silly, lol. You can very simply scroll past an artist that you don’t care about/already know about. The idea of being bothered by a musician getting posted in here b/c you don't think anyone listens to them...idk. This site is extra weird today.

I’m not bothered, I just think it’s weird people just say “fuck that” about people they already hate and they do it over and over and over again and that’s what the majority of this thread is. It sucks imo because when this thread is serving an important purpose, like with the dogleg situation or the all time low situations or any situation that is actually adjacent to this scene it’s pretty important that it exists and needs to stick around. But the constant posting and piling on of artists so far out of our stratosphere that the idea of accountability is a cruel joke is just draining to watch in an already draining climate

 

But it’s easier to call me weird than try and understand where I’m coming from, I get it.

 

I was directly referencing the Morgan Wallen post, but I don’t get your problem with posting about Carrie Underwood. Outside of this thread I wouldn’t have known that she was a dummy, so it was a valuable post.

 

I just kinda wonder what the point in knowing Carrie Underwood has stupid but semi-private thoughts on covid. How should it impact my life to know she clicks the heart button on ig posts of bullshit I already hear from relatives and acquaintances

I agree with that. I mostly skim what's posted here and some of it gets a shrug. It being posted doesn't bother me

 

The complaining about what gets posted in this thread and how people respond to it is dumb as hell. Keep scrolling. I get plenty of value out of this thread, and we shouldn’t limit what gets posted here to things related to “our scene.” What scene even is that?

 

I think the fact I received a warning for a sarcastic story pointing out that some celebs and artists have rightfully disappeared from the public eye after being called out is pretty dumb.

Lincoln Hall and Schubas are two of the best venues in Chicago and I hope this doesn’t damage their reputations. All the people there (obviously sans the owner and anyone who protected him) are great people.

ah, yes.

basically the first tweet read "if a band member did this, the venue would cancel the show and the label would drop the band, but because it's an owner of multiple venues, their asking for our patience while they handle it." and the other tweet was someone replying that he got fired and she replied that he cannot get fired, hes the owner, he can step down but doing so still doesnt financially harm him.

 

mmhmm. essentially saying he's the owner and can't be fired
