Google does exist though, and you will get an answer much faster than posting "who" in this thread. This thread is not here to do the work on who someone is for you, nor should people be expected to explain who someone is when articles/tweets/posts do just that. For example, if you search "Burger Records" a bunch of articles come up on the first page about what happened.

Honest question. Do you try to be a piece of shit or does it just happen naturally?

like I’m pretty sure this isn’t the first time you’ve been called out in this thread for posting something dumb.

I mean, it’s pretty easy to google an artist that’s posted here if you don’t know who they are.

The Pharcyde thing was just a re-release of their debut album and a remix album. They haven't released anything in 17 years.

Burger has been known to produce re-releases/remasters. On top of The Pharcyde, I think they’ve done cassette releases for Weezer and Green Day. Pretty sure there a bunch more

Also, something I wanna point out too, is that there is now suspiciously a new record store in Fullerton in the same spot where Burger’s store was. It’s called White Rabbit Records

I haven’t been, but based off of pics I’ve seen on Instagram, the interior is completely untouched, and the two cats that live at the store are still there, so I have a reason to believe it’s still owned/ran by the Burger people, which kinda sucks if it’s true

  13. Margo Price Announces In-Person Concert, Shares New “Hey Child” Video

Not really an accountability issue, per se, but I'm not sure where else to ask this. Is it valid to feel weird about stuff like this? Even with COVID precautions put in place, whatever they may be, I can't help but think stuff like this just opens the door for people to break those precautions, attempt to hold more in-person events, etc. I don't have any problem with Margo Price, but it leaves a weird taste in my mouth and I can't tell if that's just me.

    hey you lil piss baby

It’s absolutely irresponsible, both for the risk it poses (even with whatever precautions have been put in place) and for the message it sends (as you pointed to). But I feel similarly about whatever The Flaming Lips did this weekend with that individual bubble concert or w/e.

It's for summer also the messaging makes no sense because you can have 50 people in a restaurant but not a concert, neither are okay probably

Also it's outdoors and fingers crossed we can have outdoors distanced concerts this summer

It just sucks that some artists are able to (irresponsibly as mentioned) tour when other artists/bands don't have that privilege (and probably would not feel comfortable playing shows). I think we all understand that musicians make most of their money from touring but it's just...weird. It sucks to see artists skirting around the pandemic (for lack of a better phrase) when a lot of our favorite artists/bands are still stuck at home doing virtual shows and Patreon just to continue surviving.

It would have been nice for the government to have done at least *something* early on to help bands out.

  17. With these new super transmissible strains I don't see how any of these events can call themselves safe. How I feel about them happening later in the year depends 100% on how the vaccine rollout goes. At this moment? It's just frustrating.

The problem is nothing is safe and everything is making me the joker, haha even a livestream can easily have 10 people between band and crew is that safe who knows

There’s gonna be a lot of bands playing shows this year, safe or not they don’t care. There’s some butt rock bands who’ve been doing shows since last June.

The motive to play shows is extremely perplexing. It’s not like you can even sell enough tickets to make it viable, so with all the health risk there is literally zero reward. It’s a zero sum game until we’ve reached full vaccine rollout.

If bands are playing shows this year and jeopardizing peoples health, they do not deserve my support. I will continue supporting bands doing the right thing by staying home and gigging virtually.

are we still lucky to be here? Prestigious

I'm personally not comfortable attending any type of gathering with people outside of my immediate bubble (wife, kid, and parents) until the vaccine rollout is completed, but Florida's gonna Florida. She's playing this festival that promises a socially distanced experience, but I still am not comfortable with the arrangements their diagrams seem to suggest. Plus Sheryl Crowe and Jason Isbell being on it is disappointing:

She's still scheduled to support Chris Stapleton in April and June too at normal amphitheaters, but there's no way in hell those go down as normal especially with the June dates in California.

  22. Hard to say. Newsom appears to have given up on pretending he cares if Californians live or die so at this point I wouldn't be shocked if those shows actually happen.

These people just do not care. Grimes posted on her Instagram she had tested positive for COVID and then a week later was seen at Joe Rogan and Dave Chappelle’s indoor standup show maskless with a group of people. (Dave also ended up testing positive, after having done numerous indoor shows). It sucks so many of us are struggling and staying indoors to do the right thing, yet the ones who are not struggling are being reckless and putting others at risk.

I’ve been trying so hard to defend him, but after today, I truly can’t anymore. He clearly hasn’t learned his lesson after the last two times he reopened our state and cases soared through the roof
