I know the intention is good and it’s not at all the biggest thing, but calling ppl like G “king” and stuff I feel pulls the focus back onto the boys of rock. They aren’t kings, its just baseline decency.

really dont mean any antagonism or to single anyone out, just a pattern of behavior I see online a lot.

also “king” should be an insult

 

I can’t really comment on it more because I honestly don’t know enough about the subject, but she doesn't seem to adress the problems people had with her previous post? Or there's a misunderstanding, idk.

 

SWMRS posted a statement responding to the allegations but it doesn't really tackle any of the main issues.

It's ironic because apparently they built the band around an aesthetic of wokeness and feminism and now it's all backfiring. Reading the comments, so many fans feel betrayed because they were promised a safe space and the band portrayed themselves as Good Guys™ who speak up about SA but it was obviously a facade.

 

Kinda like how T-Rextasy knew about the PWR BTTM bs but still chose to tour with them.

 

I must say it’s been very refreshing to see Dylan Minnette (Lydia’s current boyfriend) being so supportive. I realize he’s a celebrity in his own right, but seeing him support Lydia and call out SWMRS on their most recent post for deleting comments has been refreshing to see. I feel like I rarely see supportive boyfriends going to bat for their partners, especially ones this public.

Completely agree. The bar for men behaving appopriately has been lowered so drastically that plain decent behavior is viewed as “king shit” lol

 

I saw a lot of activity on Twitter today from people with roots stemming from that part of the world; a lot of them were pretty critical with her apology and said they felt she knew what she was doing when she posted the original message

 

I saw something on twitter the other day that said something like “if you’ve never groped, catcalled, or assaulted a woman, you are normal. Not good, not great.” And that sticks with me because we are essentially at a place in society where lots of men pat themselves on the back or get applauded for having basic human decency. It’s pretty wild to see as a woman, honestly.

CA opened for them and multiple users on here DMed the members/band to tell them that they had accusations against them and no one responded.

Could be that they don't accept PMs from people they don't follow, but yeah.

If I remember correctly there was even an opportunity where they said “our DMs are open” (for an unrelated incident) and we specifically used that time to ask them to drop culture abuse. But it went ignored. I think the most charitable read for the band is that they themselves probably do not handle their socials. But someone in their camp had to have known.

 

Also if it was heard about in this forum, it was definitely circling around their own inner circles. Not believing for one second they’re that insular.
