excuse me this is fucking bullshit to claim that it’s not a surprise someone with gender dysphoria is emotionally abusive.

 

I trust iCarly enough to believe that they didn't mean that gender dysphoria is why Laura is committing this emotional abuse but rather that it's a learned behavior because of the abuse Laura has endured in her life.

I hope Paris is able to get to a place that is safe and comfortable for her. I hope Laura is able to fix her issues for the people around her, she's been so incredibly toxic and shitty for such a long time. I love her music but I'm not exactly surprised she is the way she is. Just disappointed.

On a more selfish note, I just wish there was more positive transfemme representation out there.

 

Well in this volatile of an environment where people are calling my community sexual predators and a slew of other things that categorize us as a threat I suggest you consider what you say before speaking so brazenly about the topic. Nobody knows what happened here and two women are hurting so perhaps best not to pontificate.

 

I don’t know of anyone as high profile as LJG but pretty much all the trans comedians and standups I know seem to be positive and cool.

i understood what you meant and thought similar without knowing how to say it. unfortunately, people with substance abuse and gender dysphoria history have faced more adversity in life which can sometimes increase the chance of behavioral issues. plus the world sucks rn and someone so politically minded would be extra distressed just existing right now.

I joined briefly and left when I saw everyone ignoring the accusations entirely.

 

And calling them false accusations, that Paris is lying...

I knew someone who died as part of a murder-suicide, I know someone else who lost his mother due to a murder-suicide - this IG Live is actually terrifying.

 

I don’t want to discount anything Paris wrote because I don’t think there’s any excuse for abuse, so forgive me if it sounds like I am; Laura is generally pretty open about her mental health struggles through her writing and her general state of being chronically online and that’s just what she’s chosen to show to the world. If that’s what we’re seeing publicly, it stands to reason there’s a lot more going on as well. To Paris’ point, I’m sure this has been a pattern and not a sudden realization on a Thursday.

Too piggyback on this, having gender dysphoria does not mean you are more likely to be abusive! IF your abuse is a learned behavior, it's not because YOU have gender dysphoria, it's because OTHERS treated you that way and stems from that behavior, not that you are trans.

There are plenty of trans men and women who are not abusive who also have gender dysphoria and to speculate that having dysphoria leads to it is ignorant at best and incredibly hurtful, harmful and another stigma added to all the trans/non binary community.
