When the news initially broke about Ryan Adams back in 2019, Jenny Lewis’s new album On The Line had just been released - an album Adams had produced. Jenny then had to handle all the press questions about “if she knew” what had been going on, instead of simply being able to promote her music. So fuck you to Ryan Adams for being a complete piece of shit, and an extra fuck you for the strife that came Jenny’s way as a result.

Belated response to your comment but a fair amount of the emo scene stemmed from playing in places like church youth centers and what not so I think that's where some of this came from. As an atheist American I always felt a little weirded out by it too so it's understandable that someone from outside the U.S. would find it even more strange.

Same, and banners in support of Palestine. LC! are a band who fucking stand on business and I love them.

 

Saw that All Time Low announced a new album, I haven't been keeping up with them since the allegations, but then I remembered the weirdness with it all.

Last I recall, there was an allegation, the main "thing" that was researched and found to be fabricated in bad faith, but they have the obvious history of saying things on stage and being questionable people.

Is that where we currently stand? It kinda feels like the very uncommon situation where the specific allegation/cancellation was fake but the overall vibes are still icky...

Could be remembering wrong, who knows more

 

It was proven "fake" by their own team, so a big grain of salt with it and their initial reaction to it was gross enough to turn me off from them

I recall, and again can be wrong, that there was a full release of pages and pages of data and proof to back up why and how it was faked?

 

The main allegation poster used a VPN and it seemed to me like they were never actually found so atl's team dismissed everything. I personally think if anything about that story had been true, there would've been cascade of similar abuse stories which there weren't. There were extremely not great stories about comments the band made to fans and in fan settings, which was their entire public brand and not a secret, but no accusations of anything nearing the main twitter anon.

 

I was chastised in this website's currently active thread for pointing out a similar detail about the Good Charlotte guy that dated Hillary Duff when she was like 16.

 

Always remember that AP podcast when podcasts were on iPods with all time low’s manager saying that he would get calls all the time being like “hey I made out with a 16 year old” and the dude would go “what state are you in?” And they’d say “Nevada” and he’d be like “ok thank god, you’re good”
