Daiki the guitarist of Crossfaith is being accused of pedophilia by Ronnie Radke. Daiki supposedly tried to meet up with a 14 year old fan while Crossfaith were on Falling In Reverse’s European tour. Ronnie claims Crossfaith were quietly removed from the tour, and that promoters and festivals were contacted regarding Daiki’s actions.

I couldn’t find an article besides this one going over everything, so ignore the Ronnie Radke glazing the person writing it is doing at the beginning. Radkepool is back, this time against Daiki of Crossfaith - Chaoszine

 

Yeah I dunno, if that's true then he definitely needs to be held accountable and face the consequences but at the same time... I feel like Ronald McDonald's constant accusing other people of pedophilia is a lot of deflection from the fucked up skeletons dangling out of his own closet.

That fucking domestic abuser chode is out pal'ing around with Marilyn Manson in cybertrucks, hoping we forget how he injured a 16 year old at one of his shows. He's about the last person who has any room to be calling anyone else out over any kind of impropriety.

 

The last time he called out a pedo it was to get back at all the hair metal guys that made fun of him for the laptop stuff.

AI is a serious problem both because it uses copyrighted material to create works and because it cheats actual human beings out of work they could be paid to do otherwise, so I would argue anyone who blindly uses AI can and should be held accountable for its effect on the industry.

 

i understand. imagine putting in work to have 7 people watch the video though. i can't imagine they have much of a fanbase these days.

 

I'm sure they have a bigger fanbase than that. And they just signed to Better Noise, so they're clearly gearing up for something.

But putting all that aside, what's their fanbase size got to do with the price of fish?

The band issued a statement, but whoosh. The initial reactions from the band members (their convo with Ronnie) are not good.

 

Of the many things discussed in this thread, I feel like a band using generative AI animations is pretty low on the totem pole of things I care to hold someone accountable for.

 

That's cool, man. Do you have something to bring to the table to discuss or is that it?

 

I guess I just compare it to a movie using CGI and don’t see a ton of difference between the two. Is a software engineer that wrote a program that can generate these images much different than the Minecraft movie being filmed on a green screen and the computer handling all of the effects, or are we only mad at the artist who used it? Are we mad at a musician using a drum machine or a pad full of loops and triggers instead of live drums? How do we actually hold a band accountable for (allegedly) using AI to create something, or do we just write them off as the same as an actual abusive piece of shit like Ronnie Radke?

To me, there’s some nuance there, no?

 

AI is another step on our collective walk into hell. Any use of it should be condemned.

 

If you hate AI, do you also hate the driver who uses GPS? The man who dons spectacles so that he may see the world?

I feel like use of generative AI is worth being upset about while also understanding and commiserating that it probably isn't going anywhere. Like most of the crimes committed to be in this thread, there isn't much we can actually do to hold people accountable as society continues to accept use of generative AI as normal practice, but I'm also not going to be upset about someone calling out how problematic it is. Whether someone wants to cut ties with an artist for using it is completely up to them.
