Scalpers getting screwed and the BN apologists who laugh about the allegations and then spent $300 per ticket at initial on sale getting screwed are two wins.
But also, even with these resale tickets as low as $5 in some cities it doesnt look like they're moving. Which means the band may be hitting the stage to play to a half empty room. I'll take that as a win too.

 

It’s not just a bad tour rollout, it’s what happens when you try to ignore the people you harmed and hope no one notices. The silence is catching up.

 

Hopefully the sales of this tour puts off Brand New from touring overseas in general

 

Unfortunately the cancelled artist playbook is “can’t tour the US because everyone hates us, so let’s tour countries no one will go to”

 

I like to think it's also that he used shows and tours in the past to find the girls he would abuse. It's not like they are just making a new song or album and not touring (which gives people a false sense of safety), they are literally returning to the same practices that he used in the past to abuse girls, and they haven't even addressed it. Like the public is supposed to just trust that the man who routinely preyed on girls on tour, who has by now, a long list of victims who have come out and said how he abused them and how touring and shows was often the first step in that process, is now safe to go on tour again, even though he hasn't addressed anything to the public about it at all? It's beyond gross and disgusting, and it seems (in some markets at least) that the general public agrees.

It’s genuinely incredible how the most irrelevant detail in the entire conversation has become the hill some of these Reddit spillover accounts are choosing to die on. Imagine caring more about a sarcastic comment than the grooming, the silence, or the collapsing tour.

reddit just fed me something from their subreddit that their website seems to be gearing up for something, so buckle up I guess

 

ok that is really sketchy. Just a few days ago that entire lower bowl was covered blue dots. Something suspicious there, as I highly doubt they suddenly sold thousands of tickets after months of stale sales.
Most likely just “sold” the tickets to Groupon or some other discount site who will now try and move them.

I can’t imagine opting to play Portland (no disrespect to Portland, but I wouldn’t consider them a top tier market) and choosing the fucking basketball arena that holds 20K people of all places. I get that maybe there isn’t a midsize venue for them but there’s gotta be SOMETHING between Roseland’s 1500 cap and the home of the Trailblazers. A packed Keller Auditorium would look so much better than a quarter full cavern.

 

It’s possible the band was that delusional in thinking it would be a massive comeback.
