Apparently when he was working for Double U N beee seeee, he had a tense working relationship with Pigvomit
He was known for treating co-workers poorly throughout his career when they would ask for raises, etc. Despite him going woke, he’s still a piece of trash.
I have a feeling the movie is gonna end around the mid-1980s after the success of Thriller but before the Bad era prior his skin started lightening up just because the movie makers aren't sure how to tackle that issue. The trailer looks like a MJ-friendly biopic and they want audiences to remember back when he was standing on top of the world. I could be wrong though.
Nah I think your right, I think it will end at the end of the Bad tour and if a sequel happens it will be set around the Dangerous album cycle
I think it’s crazy that they tried to include the abuse allegations in the movie. I would have fully expected them to ignore them from the start.
Per the article: I think it's good they tried to as they didn't set out to make a happy go lucky MJ movie, they wanted a true biopic. The entire last third of the movie was to be about the allegations. It's only because the estate found some clause in a settlement with the victim that they agree to never being depicted in any film ever. What's WILDER is that the estate apparently greenlit it knowing what Lionsgate wanted to do but then THEY were the ones who found the clause.
It’s also nuts that it can be their defense now for not including it. They can say at least they tried. On one hand I really don’t care about a Michael Jackson movie, but I’d be interested in that original cut or script if it ever leaks. I'm sure it’s my age and demographic but basically all I’ve known of him my entire life is his allegations and him being a playground joke/punch line.
I would be somewhat interested in a nuanced look at everything, scars and all. I'm not interested in a puff piece
It’s going to do very well. Let’s not kid ourselves. Not something I care to see. I learned my lesson with “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
most people still think Michael just liked being around kids because he didn’t have a childhood and have no interest in learning about what the sexual abuse he inflicted over and over again on those children actually was. so yeah it will do well but to hell with this movie.
really can't stand most music biopics, especially when they try to present some sort of revisionist history around serious allegations of abuse or resort to exploiting personal trauma. the alternative is swinging hard in the other direction and just ignoring any complicated subject matter altogether, which at that point you're just left with a cheap carbon copy of the original artist with no further nuance to their story - just fan service. i don't see a scenario in which a biopic about Michael Jackson completely ignores all of these pitfalls, even with the legal boundaries about depicting the SA allegations.
Alec Baldwin says he is likely retiring from acting following Rust tragedy "“I was home with my kids for three-and-a-half years — I hardly worked at all — and that’s just changing now,” he said. “I’m going to go off and do a bunch of things. But I was home and I got used to it, and I don’t want to leave my house anymore. I don’t. I don’t want to work anymore. I don’t. I really don’t. I want to retire and stay home with my kids.”
I feel like he threatensed to quit acting quite often over the years. After the his daughter-berating voicemail got leaked, he said he was gonna quit 30 Rock and not take on acting roles
