Kind of along those lines but not as wild, in high school I was going to watch Final Destination with some friends. one them came from a pretty heavy religious background and the very IDEA of the plot being “death has a plan and comes up with wackier and wackier to get you” absolutely set him off. He refused to watch it and eventually left because, “the devil does not decide when and how people die, god decides that!”

A few years later he had distanced himself from religion and he ended up watching it and couldn’t remember being so irate and storming out of my house over it lol

I consider myself religious but even when I didn’t there was always some worry when I’m alone and it’s dark about doing something to invite in some ghost or something stupid. Idk it does make horror more exciting if you have some irrational fears. Candace is obviously off the deep end and has views more harmful than being scared of horror movies
