Yeah saw that yesterday and the Hailey stuff is pretty obvious now. He was down bad now he’s just creepy
Yeah I hadn’t realized it but the fact that the entire cast of movie had unfollowed him on social media was pretty telling
Fucking hell!! This guy's career is truly over and done with.. he really messed with the wrong person and paid the price for it big time
Yeah I agree. Depp had some weird internet voodoo happen to support him. My girlfriend even fell trap to it which pissed me off but I had to ignore it unfortunately, she is a SA survivor so I wasn’t going to fight back too much.
Yeah unfortunately if this director was as famous/beloved as Depp, this would be a district scenario. People can quickly "cancel" someone if they don't have any attachment
i also think people are underestimating how powerful blake/ryan reynolds are. it's unfortunate that it plays an effect in something actually getting done in this scenario vs. amber's case but it pretty clearly seems to be playing a factor.
Two big thoughts here. First is how startling an example he is of learning feminism vocabulary and using it as a disguise. He’s hosted round tables and all sorts of stuff deconstructing toxic masculinity with other men. I genuinely can’t imagine what it must be like to be a woman who dates men at this point. Men have even figured out how to make outwardly loving their wives a red flag. Second is that I don’t recall many (if not any) getting this kind of industry support. Which to me signals that he very clearly did everything he’s accused of and it’s all been documented and such. But also, I feel for everyone else who’s come forward the last few years with evidence and documentation and never received this same support. I hope this is more a sign of changing tides than it is Blake’s status (probably naive, but it’s Christmas Eve, lemme have it this time)
Agreed - especially with the optimism of change / support for victims happening. Hopefully seeing Weinstein get taken down was a good start and proved that speaking out against this shit would actually result in things happening since he was such a monolith in Hollywood, so if he was able to be taken down, then this guy (who I’ve never heard of before so I assume he has much less stature than Weinstein did) could also be taken down.
Unfortunately, I think this is another example of how the only people who can really be 'cancelled' are those who have built their career on being an ally. That plus Blake Lively's status makes this an outlier in my opinion.
I always wonder is it like hubris or cognitive dissonance? I can't sleep thinking about every bad thing I've ever done in my life. If I was famous that would be magnified. If I branded myself as someone who cares about an issue while doing the exact opposite of that issue, I'd be a wreck. Does he really see himself as the man he branded himself to be? Or does he know he's a charlatan? I don't get it Reminds me how my abusers fave song was unironically Face Down by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. I don't think he saw himself reflected in the lyrics at all and would condemn the person in that song even tho he was no different. It's fascinating in that "everything is terrible" kinda way lol The mind boggles
