Posted this in politics since it was very popular amongst the MAGA crowd, but turns out the “Sound Of Freedom” guy was assaulting women in the name of saving the children. Tim Ballard’s Claims to Fight Sex Trafficking Made Him a MAGA Star. These Women Told Police He Abused Them
“It’s OK to feel uncomfortable or provoked while looking at a painting or watching a play, but I worry everything’s being dialled and dumbed down. We’re telling audiences they’re going to be scared before they’ve watched something.” But seriously this seems incredibly rational!
As previously said, the warnings are to benefit the people who might witness something unexpectedly or who might suffer from some trauma that might be provoked. For everyone else, who cares? It's a message. It costs a second of your time. This whole inability of people to respect the well-being of others is why COVID got so out of control.
Nah, I get it, and I personally have no problem with it. But as far as I can tell he didn’t belittle anyone who asks/advocates for them. How is this an accountability issue and not just one person’s opinion on how people consume art @ItsAndrew ?
I don't like him calling people "soft", but otherwise, yeah I don't see anything to be held accountable for there
It wasn’t intended as a counterpoint. I was just sharing because Ralph Fiennes was actually kind of a dick about it. I don’t think he needs to be arrested for it or anything. Lol
This happens all the time though, doesn't it? Someone posts something to bring it to the forum's attention and then someone's like "but does this belong here?" and then we all discuss that instead of discussing the thing that was posted.
Trigger warnings are also fine too and should come with more shows/movies that involve subjects like assault. It’s kind of crazy that they didn’t happen sooner.
