Maybe I’m missing something because I don’t know the golfer or what the show is but I don’t think you should platform a dangerous fascist like trump to your audience

 

I dont disagree but what *accountability* should Bryson face for this?

I thought that was pretty evident here but I guess not? Yes Trump is awful and we all already know this, but people with any sort of platform should not be platforming him and normalizing him in any way and they should at the very least be called out for doing so.

Bryson is one of the first professional golfers to truly embrace YouTube and making content for social media and he has the ability to do a lot of good with his YouTube channel, so if the backlash makes him think twice on who he platforms on his channel in the future that would be a net positive in accountability.

 

But it won’t. This is who Bryson is. He has been pals with Trump for his entire golfing career. Backlash isn’t going to change that with him. I agree, he shouldn’t be doing it, but unfortunately this is the person he is.

 

and that makes sense too, I honestly didn’t know he’s been friends with Trump prior to this, and yeah that makes this less surprising sadly.

 

Still worth raising imo. We saw others like Tom Brady back away from outwardly showing support to Trump even though they had been pals. Even if it doesn’t change his behavior maybe others will note not to watch his show in the future.
