This was today’s episode of the Pod Meets World podcast and it was heartbreaking to listen to both Rider and Will struggling to come to terms with how Peck manipulated and groomed both of them when they were younger. He got them to go to court to sit in with him as a show of support after he’d been arrested for sexual assault on a minor by convincing them “hey, I’m your friend, you know me, I’d neeeeever do that, it was all the kid’s fault” etc. They said it didn’t hit them until they were sitting in court listening to the proceedings and thinking “what am I doing here?” that he’d gotten them to sit on the wrong side and they’re filled with shame over it.

If he’s actually going to hold him accountable and try to hold him to becoming a better person that’s his prerogative. I’ve just heard and seen enough people claim that’s what they’re doing as a way to avoid dealing with what’s actually happened. I also just don’t know why you’d want to be friends with someone who’s been capable of those things for even a second. Hope someone knocks some sense into Cena

 

I think the substantive part of what he said was posted, I don’t personally see a reason to post those vague statements especially if they came before all the bad stuff

 

This kills me because I like the idea that anyone would ever say they're NOT pro friendship, honesty, and communication. He is truly saying nothing lmao but I hope he is able to hold his friend accountable

I am very shocked to see the news report of the arrest of the person involved in the work. First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the victims.

I am also very sorry for the anxiety this incident has caused those who love and support our work.

I believe that the value of the work will not be damaged by this incident, but it is only natural that you may be distrustful of the work. I am very frustrated and saddened by this.

 

Knowing someone who has worked on Queer Eye, they did not have good things to say about JVN.
