There's TONS and I mean TONS of people in this world that see any partner hanging out with a member of the opposite sex as a red flag. I don't remember what the post was but I was on Instagram and it was some innocent video where some girl was with a few guys and the comments said "yo, why you letting your women hang out with guys when you aren't there?" "any person who thinks men and women can be friends is a fool" and "you know they just waiting to hit that", etc etc. People try to defend it by saying that once you're married or in a relationship your sole focus and priority should be your partner because they should be your best friend now. This world is a weird, messed up place.
My brother is currently seeing a guy who is extremely insecure about this, and it's upsetting because my brother just got out of a bad relationship and doesn't deserve to have to juggle someone's insecurities.
That's awful. I've been in bad relationships, one in particular where I was cheated on, but that does not mean I'm allowed to bring that insecurity and place it on someone else who hasn't warranted any of that blame. They are a completely different person and that person deserves their own respect and trust. I'm sorry your brother has to deal with that.
Yeah that’s a major red flag. That only scratches the surface of the physical and mental abuse from Majors though. What a piece of shit. All this evidence was out there and he was calling her a liar and denying doing anything abusive. He even tried to get her arrested! Sheesh.
Most of what I've seen on Twitter is people defending him and using that video of him running from her as evidence of his innocence.
Yes we live amongst scum. I live in the Cleveland area where every Sunday you can find scores of people who will defend someone accused by 30 women of sexual assault because he’s on the football team. He throws a ball well so 30 women must be lying.
From what I understand, Tosh has always been a pretty thoughtful, sensitive person behind the scenes. That’s also why he doesn’t give a whole lot of interviews because he wants to protect his persona.
I think I said this in the comedy thread but Tosh has always been a great comedian and nice guy stuck doing a shitty show
Tosh.0 is a show you couldn't (read: shouldn't) make today and I don't think anyone knows that more than Tosh himself. Love Tosh speaking out and bringing common sense to the argument.
He's actively shit on cancel culture being a real thing on his podcast and he uses Chapelle and Burr as examples as people that still very much have careers.
Both comics that write edgy, offensive jokes, but understand the concept of punching up. It actually takes skill, talent, and effort.
I always find myself coming back to George Carlin when thinking about this stuff. There's a reason that so many of his bits are so evergreen. He understood how to wield his talent against the powerful, never people who were marginalized
Theo is Gillis esque to me. Very funny and could have a career without having to pal around with the right
I kind feel the other way, I don't think he's funny at all but he also doesn't strike me as shitty aside from being kind of indiscriminate about who he interviews and stuff
I think he gets a lot of latitude because he might genuinely be a moron. When he had Mulaney on, John was telling a story about getting surprised by, I think, a yellow balloon and Theo said “An Asian!” John did not laugh, but let it slide. It made Theo look even stupider since John has a kid and girlfriend who are Asian. He also had Tucker Carlson on his show and, I don’t know, that’s pretty gross.
