Riggle is a bummer but honestly not that surprising.

I would rather start my career over in a new field than be a part of a Ben Shapiro produced television show with a Ted Cruz cameo. Holy fuck I can’t think of a worse combination for “comedy”.

Danny Trejo did a movie about that fight on the bus that went viral a few years ago. He probably signs before he knows the synopsis.

It's a mix between true believers like Barr and Corolla and people whose career has deteriorated. The far right is trying to make their own ecosystem beyond just the news. Music, movies, shows. It's just going to further alienate people from regular society.

 

Trejo also was recently revealed to be deeply in debt. Not to let him off the hook, but he says yes to projects before they’re even pitched to him. Probably why he was in that terrible Regal pre-roll.

This article mentions that it's he mistakenly made deductions over the years on his personal taxes, and that the businesses are unaffected by the debt. Not sure what his share of the business or how that's all set up.

I've tried the Taco / Cantina and I got free donuts when This Fool did a promotional thing at the shop. No complaints about the food, highly recommend the vegan mushroom asada burrito. They always seem busy when I pass by.

It bums me out for sure, but I don't think criticism will affect the jobs he takes. He's got like 450 credits on IMDb. He probably only says no if there's schedule conflicts. Good news for anyone who can pay his fee. I wonder how much he'd get to play Detective Crashmore.

 

It’s one thing to give Trejo a pass now because he says yes to everything, but it’ll be another if in like 6 months people are sharing clips of him reciting transphobic sludge on Family Guy Part 2

Then again it’s hard to hold anything against a broke 80 year old with no previous record surrounding this type of controversy. It’s disappointing to see him take the role but it doesn’t currently feel like a politically/socially charged move
