Interesting nothing in there about caring about genocide against Palestinians. Fuck off with that apology we know how you feel
https://deadline.com/2023/11/daily-...e-owens-danny-trejo-roseanne-barr-1235643840/ The usual suspects but also Danny Trejo, Rob Riggle and Patrick Warburton
Riggle is a bummer but honestly not that surprising. I would rather start my career over in a new field than be a part of a Ben Shapiro produced television show with a Ted Cruz cameo. Holy fuck I can’t think of a worse combination for “comedy”.
Danny Trejo did a movie about that fight on the bus that went viral a few years ago. He probably signs before he knows the synopsis. It's a mix between true believers like Barr and Corolla and people whose career has deteriorated. The far right is trying to make their own ecosystem beyond just the news. Music, movies, shows. It's just going to further alienate people from regular society.
Trejo also was recently revealed to be deeply in debt. Not to let him off the hook, but he says yes to projects before they’re even pitched to him. Probably why he was in that terrible Regal pre-roll.
a lot of people also probably have no idea what Daily Wire is haha, it's like when Jennifer Garner is in an Evangelical movie or Mira Sorvino is in Sound Of Freedom
I've been to Trejo's taco place but didn't end up actually eating there. I wonder if he's been in debt partially because it isn't doing well?
Trejo definitely just says yes to everything. Guy was even in a Maylene & the Sons of Disaster video.
I think it’s weird how some people get excuses. Surely someone tells these folks what the daily wire is
Not at all...just thinking from a scale perspective. I'm sure he didn't get a whopping paycheck for that gig, but he did it!
Okay, I just wasn't sure if something was wrong with Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster that I didn't know about.
This article mentions that it's he mistakenly made deductions over the years on his personal taxes, and that the businesses are unaffected by the debt. Not sure what his share of the business or how that's all set up. Actor Danny Trejo files for bankruptcy, owes $2.5M in back taxes I've tried the Taco / Cantina and I got free donuts when This Fool did a promotional thing at the shop. No complaints about the food, highly recommend the vegan mushroom asada burrito. They always seem busy when I pass by. It bums me out for sure, but I don't think criticism will affect the jobs he takes. He's got like 450 credits on IMDb. He probably only says no if there's schedule conflicts. Good news for anyone who can pay his fee. I wonder how much he'd get to play Detective Crashmore.
It’s one thing to give Trejo a pass now because he says yes to everything, but it’ll be another if in like 6 months people are sharing clips of him reciting transphobic sludge on Family Guy Part 2 Then again it’s hard to hold anything against a broke 80 year old with no previous record surrounding this type of controversy. It’s disappointing to see him take the role but it doesn’t currently feel like a politically/socially charged move
“….to bring back the irreverent patriarch in a truly hilarious comedy that doesn’t care who it offends” People so far removed from normal society that they act as if South Park, Family Guy, Always Sunny, American Dad, Rick and Morty etc etc etc etc etc don’t still exist
All, "a truly hilarious comedy that doesn’t care who it offends," means is that it is intentionally setting out to offend. WHOA so edgy!!!!
