Huge fucking bummer hearing about Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp.

Like, I get wanting to support someone you're close to, but not when they're a fucking serial rapist.

 

I feel like this is important to note:

"Masterson’s lawyers submitted the letters with their recommendation that Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Charlaine F. Olmedo sentence Masterson to concurrent sentences for each rape conviction, which would make him eligible for parole in 15 years instead of 30. The judge declined and made it clear she believes Masterson is guilty.

“Mr. Masterson, you are not the victim here. Your actions 20 years ago took away another person’s choice and voice. Your actions 20 years ago were criminal, and that’s why you are here,” Judge Olmedo said."

I have an immense amount of respect for the judge for this response.

Just read the letters. Unreal that their biggest point is that he discouraged drug use. Embarassing

 

Pretty dumb that they would get upset. He was asked to play Venom in a Raimi film. Who wouldn’t say yes to that?

 

Nah, long before he left the show there were always stories about him not being friends with the cast and the rest of the cast being cliquey.

 

Maybe they shunned him early on for playing a drug user in Traffic, haha.

1) I’m chuckling over wondering how do you apply for The Simpsons? Do they have a website and wayyyy on the bottom is there a “careers” link?

2) is Topher Grace really all tatted up? A quick google search makes me believe those are all real? Incredible.

Remember that time Mila Kunis gave an interview saying she was shocked people gave will Smith a standing ovation at the oscars and that she was standing up for what's right by not giving him one after he hit someone, but then she defended someone being sentenced for rape?

As bad as people can be, it still blows my mind anybody of that level of celebrity would write a support letter for somebody actually convicted of rape

 

Right like if it's complicated then process ur relationship with him and what that means with a therapist behind closed doors. Nobody made them write letters asking for leniency tho wtf

 

Dead at all these actors bringing up Masterson's daughter to evoke sympathy for him. She's gonna be raised without a father? That's his entire fault, not the judge. And maybe to not be raised by a rapist will have some positive impact idk idk. Kutcher still saying he trusts him alone with his kids?? How on earth does this dude work with survivors?? The cognitive dissonance is wild. Again, wtf.
