I do game nights every other week (and movie trips occasionally in the gaps) and it's done wonders for my mental health.
If I remember correctly, the woman who threw the first gender reveal that really set the whole thing off has come out and said she regrets it. I think one of her kids came out as trans and she got educated on the community and realized the issues it presents
I've never been to a gender reveal party but one time an old coworker was talking about how disappointed her husband was when they learned their baby was a girl. And Thank gawd the reveal parties weren't trendy back then because if they would've had a party and he looked so disappointed in photos/videos that immortalized the moment that his future kid could possibly stumble across ugh. Idk how that alone didn't convince her of divorce. They're divorced now and he's in jail for some heinous stuff so sucks to suck. I'd love like a gender reveal mozzarella stick. Or a gender reveal French fry. People need to think bigger but like this kind of bigger not cause an airplane to crash bigger
I don’t want kids, but I know if I did and I only had one, I’d want it to be a girl (or whatever they wanted to be). Instant divorce indeed.
I would only celebrate if it was a boy. My family needs more strong hands to help us with the harvest before winter.

I think you should be able to get a cake with blue frosting inside without reinforcing the gender binary
Pink is my favorite color so it bums me out every time I try to buy something and there isn't a pink option or it's just marketed only at women when like, I don't know if they know this, women like other colors and men like things more than blue and red as well
Who even makes the pink and blue colored stuff for each one? Someone has to already know right? Don’t tell me the doctors are in on this stupid stuff.
I believe usually the doctor’s office gives you a sealed envelope which you then pass on to either a company directly or a friend/relative you trust not to spill the beans
Yeah it’s usually a family member/friend of some sort. My friend’s recently had a baby and didn’t want to know the gender until the baby was born which I thought was pretty cool.
My sister and her husband had a reveal but it was just the two of them, a mutual friend who they gave the doctor’s envelope to, and their pet dog in their back yard. Their friend filmed the unsealing inside their house while they waited outside. When the friend found out they were having a boy, he tied a blue bandana to their dog and had the dog run outside as the announcement to my sister and husband. It was a cute video without making a spectacle of it.
That’s so cheesy lol but at least not harmful to the environment and no one was killed. We had a conversation with the doctor about the sex of the baby. Really didn’t need to make a whole thing of it with pink and blue and I’ll think all gender reveal anecdotes are cheesy and outdated constructions of gender anyway
I wanna say Gordon Hayward (a basketball player) posted a gender reveal video (might have been his wife) that revealed they were having their 3rd or 4th daughter and the look on his face and his body language is as if his soul just left his body. He’s absolutely irate and internally screaming his unhappiness while his wife and daughter all cheer. I think people thought it was staged/fake because people couldn’t believe his wife would that oblivious to his unhappy reaction and still post the video online but no idea if it was confirmed staged or not and I don’t care to Google it, I just like to think he did hate the reveal and will awkwardly have that daughter find out when she’s older.
I'm surprised, "name reveal" parties hasn't been invented yet. Honestly that's so much more interesting then what genitals your kid has. Plus all the groans when they reveal a terrible name sounds extremely entertaining
