He's unfortunately in one of my favorite movies of all time... But he's also wearing a sheet over his head the entire time, so small victories.
Lauren Mayberry from CHVRCHES dated him and made some implications that he was emotionally abusive, so Long playing that character in Barbarian surprised me because I thought his actual outing would be inevitable…
My big worry is this is like COVID, where the rules are strict at first and then bigger celebs get tired of taking selfies on the picket line and slowly start breaking away and breaking rules and the momentum slows down until there’s just no accountability because the ones with the most money have very little to worry about. It’s super cynical and obviously they would have to worry about getting kicked out of SAG-AFTRA. But something about this kind of triggered that thought. It has a very Ellen/“My home is a prison” vibe.
I'm bolstered by the large financial contributions from bigger celebs to the SAG-AFTRA fund that benefits members during the strike. Most of these fools complaining are vaguely right-wing anyways, and will likely end up being fi-core scabs someday.
Not bigger than those A-listers mentioned in that article for example, but certainly much more of a celebrity than the vast majority of SAG-AFTRA members.
yes he is bigger than the people making SAG-AFTRA minimums obviously lol, he isn’t a household name though, he’s “the guy from shazam” or, if you’re real, “the guy from chuck”
You could say it was performative and some parts weren't perfect, but the TCU coaches speech on consent, was really good to see, and I hope more of that happens behind closed doors from young athletes mentors / role models.
