Jon Hamm on the Violent Hazing That Shuttered His Fraternity: 'It Was a Bummer of a Thing That Happened'
He was involved in a violent frat pledge hazing incident at UT Austin in 1990 where he among other awful things dragged a pledge by the testicles with the claw of a hammer. None of it is rumor or hearsay either, is all on record, he was arrested, expelled, the frat shut down on campus, he was sued.
Just a bummer of thing that happened! these people take no accountability. This thread is like making an accountability for climate change thread. it’s just us finding out worse and worse things and nothing changes :(
I wonder if it’s a thing like I had at my former office, where you’d have a worker that was so talented and also a total asshole and you basically just had to bide your time until they showed their ass and faced repercussions. Either way, it is awful that this was somewhat known and Majors was allowed to get this far before it happened, but that is truly the world we live in.
It never feels good to celebrate an artist going down considering there are actual victims, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to the day the other shoe drops on Jared Leto. Fuck that guy. Awful human being.
I haven’t seen a single thing Jonathan Majors is in, but it always sucks when there’s yet another shitty dude in Hollywood.
The one that always blows my mind is the legacy of Tupac Shakur has remained untouched. Wanna see cognitive dissonance and victim blaming in full effect? Go remind some old head 90's hip hop fans that Tupac was a convicted rapist and was out on bail awaiting his retrial for sex crimes at the time he was murdered. At the height of Me Too his victim put herself out there trying to bring attention to the issue but it didn't gain any real traction.
I won’t be surprised at all if he doesn’t end up being charged because our laws do a terrible job of protecting women from violence by men. And it’s a whole lot worse when it’s rich men with high priced connected lawyers
