If you say so, I hated the intial tweet when it happened cause saying all that without naming names sucks, as if we're all supposed to intuit someone's goodness from their acting persona, and then it's even worse now when it involves actual instances of assault and abuse and not what could be interpreted as simply being a bit of an ass on set. Just feels gross as hell to me.
I know we don’t know people, and this doesn’t mean anything and I’m just processing my own feelings, but he had such a human and real element to his performances that makes something like this so disappointing.
Really best not to glorify actors or any celebrity for that matter outside of enjoying their work for what it is. You can never really know anyone through film or media.
A.B. Allen’s worked both at HBO and Netflix, both of which Majors has also worked with (and just working in LA in general). No reason not to believe what they’re saying and deeply disappointing.
They are playing characters. Even their public persona in an interview or talk show or Twitter is a character too.
This is mostly what I interpreted that first tweet to mean. They can't outright name names but they can remind us of this fact
Welp, looks like we might see a new Kang appear soon. Putting a woman in a hospital by assaulting her is grounds for a recast, I’m sure. Audiences rightfully won’t let that pass.
Ezra Miller is starring in a movie coming out soon. As long as they like the character and want to see the film, comic bros unfortunately don’t care.
While true, that’s just the lead in a Flash film after the film was already made. This is basically the leading character for the entire Multiverse saga and 2 or more Avengers films over the next four years. Both of which haven’t even completed the writing stage. There’s more leverage to recast.
It’s not much, but so far the vast majority of the comments on different Marvel subreddits are pretty much in agreement that Majors should be recast. That’s something.
Gonna be a real challenge to do that, they’ve spent a good chunk of time setting up Kang in this story arc and this pretty much throws a wrench into the gears.
I guess I'm not finishing Lovecraft Country. I went to see Quantumania and Creed 3. Thought he was gonna be the next big star. Wild. Hope they do recast him. The MCU has recast multiple roles so it's nothing new. That tweet about how people had known about him, kind of makes you wonder how many assholes are out there and it's just common knowledge to those around them but not the general public
Kang isn't the only Majors problem Disney has. The Searchlight Picture's bodybuilder drama Magazine Dreams starring Jonathon Majors which recently premiered at Sundance was set to be Disney's big Oscar contender film come December.
For a few it is even out there in the open for everyone to read about, but the stories of the horrible shit they did just hasn't caught on with the general public yet *coughJonHammsexuallyassaultingsomeonewithahammercough*
Yep. Certainly has me thinking about how many people also knew full well (because you know they vet these people on some level for roles this huge), yet opted to turn a blind eye in the hopes the rest of us wouldn’t find out, and then when we do they come out and do the whole “we’re taking decisive action because accountability is important to us, here’s a hotline to reach out to if you need help” song and dance.
There are definitely people you hear a lot of stories about them being awful people, and people talk I'll just say I've never heard nice things about Emma Roberts or the singer from Third Eye Blind
