His lawyers response to this is an all time worst response ever. Says she's racist, it never happened, it's a fantasy, if it happened he didn't mean to, admits it did happen but he didn't know about it, it did happen but he's too big to keep in his pants and also she's way too old for him to want to do that to her anyway. It's really a master class of how not to respond.
Johnny's been saying that the entire time and the mainstream media outlets dont seem to gaf. He said himself he wanted her to have total global humiliation and he has delivered on that front.
Disgusting. I find it appalling that people who'd consider themselves feminists are taking his side because of the reasoning that women can be abusers too
He's just being awarded for his abuse at this point because absolutely nobody was checking for him anymore before this trial and he would not have gotten this or the vma opportunity without it.
Maybe not my place to speak, but the Rihanna situation sucks extra hard/seems more complicated considering that with the amount of misinformation and bias towards Depp online and in the media, she very well could feel she is standing with a fellow abuse victim. Just a thought.
I'm v torn between understanding that Rihanna is a survivor herself and all the complexities that come with that while also feeling like she's always been a jerk and has always associated with sucky people and I'm cynical. I have empathy in my heart for what she's been thru but this sucks Sorry for all the edits. Struggling to articulate my feelings/thoughts
I remember reading several articles during the trial about how many of his supporters were women who said they had been abused as well, seemingly wanting to separate themselves from amber and not be viewed in the same way so they participated in villainizing her, among other theories i read. It was interesting but sad.
