Murray is such a fuck, it drives me up a wall that there's still a weird subsect of Twitter that's obsessed with him being goofy or whatever
Wow, that article is actually a great collection of nearly every complaint I've read against Murray. Shocking (/s) that it happened on Ansari's set. Also disappointed to know Seth Rogen was involved with that project The bit about using a "massage device" on Geena Davis during her audition is horrifying.
and like, I don't mean to start shit in here, but when I posted this and it gets zero likes or replies, the silence is deafening
I’m not in the thread super often and don’t really like posts in general. I’m sorry this is the first time I’m contributing to this particular conversation. There’s been just a general kind of “look the other way” with Constance’s story that’s really disheartening. She’s owed several public apologies and she probably won’t get a single one. I’m glad she’s in a better place and has (at least seemingly) been able to find some joy in acting again
Yeah, not an excuse to not engage but I generally don't like posts if it's something negative (like someone experiencing sexual harassment). I don't have much to add other than, it's awful
Absolutely agree. Constance deserves an answer an apology for everything she went through. Her interview with Seth Meyers was heartbreaking. It’s still a sad state of affairs that she can’t out her abuser because she wants to continue to work in Hollywood.
even if Constance was a little rude to her coworkers if she was a white man no one would care, and they get away with being far more vicious and cruel
I wish I could say I was depressed, sad, or angry about this news, but frankly all I can manage after years of finding out people that I thought were decent (albeit flawed) are actually terrible is a numb feeling of yeah, I guess I should've seen that coming. I mean, the Ryan situation was unreal, and even though I hadn't watched Achievement Hunter for a few months before that went down, it did put the final nail in the coffin of me ever going back. It just feels so weird though, because their content always painted a picture of people that again, while very much flawed, at least had their hearts in the right place. But I guess that was always just a façade. Shameful.
So I did some quick reading around the net and besides Geoff, Gavin and Michael have also posted statements on the riff of "we didn't know what we were doing at the time, we've apologized since and have been trying to become better people, etc. etc. etc." I dunno, I guess I ultimately don't really care since I don't watch their content anymore, but this definitely puts even more of a dark cloud over my memories of watching their content.
I’m 100% not ready to blame Brendan Fraser for this one. Do I think he should publicly address this? Absolutely.. but, education, is way more important in this case than accountability.
he's done everything he can do short of not taking the role, which I'm not the one to say if that's right or not , it's Aronofsky who's fat shaming
