Last Friday I went back and looked at my Twitter feed (I rarely tweeted, haven’t done so in two years). While nothing was offensive, I sure made a lot of unfunny “jokes” that I wish I could go back and punch myself before hitting the tweet button.
Ever since timehop I’ve been reminded of some SUPER problematic and fucked up tweets I’ve made. The first time I see something I go back and delete it. Sometimes it still stays in the timehop system tho and I’m like pls can we erase these from the earth forever tho
I used to be very into movies where I followed all of the behind the scenes news, big Hollywood movies, indie films, movies from other countries, super into it. Watched a lot of movies that came out, went to some film festivals. Just because of how life gets busy I'm at the point now where I'll maybe get to see three movies a year that aren't kids movies, and even then not for months or sometimes years after they're out. I know this is sort of the nature of the internet and sites likes Reddit and Twitter but the level of vitriol and hatred that comes out now for something so silly as an actor being cast who looks a little different than what you maybe pictured has never made me more happy to have fallen out of something I used to be into. I know there have got to be lots of good and nice people who are still into things like say Star Wars but it really feels like their voices get drowned out in this day and age. I have no idea who or what Starfire is, but I take it it's an alien character from a comic book, and I hope Anna Diop plays the shit out of the role and has an awesome and rewarding time on the project while making an enjoyable movie. I think if I worked in Hollywood or was a successful published author I would definitely not use Twitter and would have a limited social media presence in general. I know there is good and fun that can come from something like Twitter - and publicity and financial gains - but it honestly seems like the shit and the filth far outweighs any of the positives. I can't wrap my mind around being so upset at the actor who plays a part before the project even starts just because of how she looks. It reminds me of when I was a freshman in college and I was so excited about the build up to The Fellowship of the Ring coming out and being sorta bummed when I finally saw Legolas and he had blonde hair because I always pictured him with brown hair when I read the books. But that was it, I was disappointed for like 5 seconds and then moved on. I know this situation has much more sinister and racist undertones but at the end of the day the racist assholes are getting worked up over something just as trivial.
It doesn't seem like anything came of it really, other than he missed whatever he usually does at SDCC this year.
The person calling out Tom Hanks is a pizzagater who also claims she was apart of a Hillary occult sex ritual...
if you Google the Seth Green guy like the first hit is a white supremacist site calling Seth Green a "Hollywood Jew"
You’ve got to be pretty damn dim to make up a lie that Tom Hanks is a sexual predator of children. Plus, what the fuck did Seth Green do to be dragged into this?
Seth Green shared that he was happy Chris Hardwick was back on AMC. I assume that had something to do with it.
