Isn’t it true that Leo has his gfs sign non disclosure agreements? I think with all things added up there’s enough there to not just “move on” and at least say uh this is a little suspect. Accountability is often times just raising awareness.

The problem with this is that it infantilizes these women. He isn't cruising through colleges preying on naive women, he is dating models, and they know exactly what men want from them. They have their own careers and their own income. They likely see being present with DiCaprio at events as possible boosts to their career. They aren't being taken advantage of.

It is kind of cruel to compare DiCaprio to Trump, but what else was Melania doing in that relationship? It isn't about love.

 

Idk I think im usually in the minority in these discussions. We can presume and hope that it's a respectful mutual transaction where the man and younger woman know what they're getting, but I worry it's not always the case.

Anecdotal of course but it feels like nearly every woman I talk to has an experience of being a legal young adult and being in a toxic unhealthy relationship with an older man at some point. There can be power differentials and lots of maltreatment and emotional and mental abuse and grooming. I cannot assume that's always the case, but given that the incidents appear to be so high, I look at those relationships with heavy caution and skepticism.

I think the recent discourse about the old Taylor Swift/Jake Gyllenhaal relationship since the Red re-release exemplifies this, or see her relationship with John Mayer. Both she was a consenting young adult, but both she articulates the unhealthy power dynamics going on.

I think age gaps are fine, but when the woman is barely out of adulthood, things get more concerning.

 

Making women sign an NDA is just wrong, and clearly reflects taking advantage of a power imbalance. Every celebrity that does it should be called out.

 

Kiana said it better than I could as always, but I’m also really not a fan of someone coming in and saying definitively, “They aren’t being taken advantage of,” with absolutely no knowledge of how these relationships function or what is involved privately. Especially when the history of his Posse and specific stories of how horrific they were to women also give no reason whatsoever to assume the best about his behavior.

 

Leo clearly has a warped view on women, it's problematic but not to a degree where people should demand accountability.


I'll also trust the women in here who maintain it is a red flag no matter how peachy clean said older person's PR team manages to make them seem.
