Women have been saying this for years and their
stories were always dismissed and it was still cool for everyone’s favorite celebrities to pal around with the guy. Glad it’s finally getting the coverage it deserves even if it’s probably too little too late, but if there’s anyone to still hold accountable I hope they get prosecuted.

 

It always grossed me out how he was always in relationships with MUCH younger women. The huge power imbalances and massive age gaps made me feel weird, and (some) people just kind of accepted that's who he was. This news doesn't shock me but it's still extremely disappointing.

 

Brett Ratner came really close to making a Hefner biopic with Jared Leto in the lead.

Some of Shawn’s specific comments over the last few years give the impression that he isn’t just defending a close friend but downplaying things in general because he also believes them/has done them. I can’t remember all of the language used but they go way beyond, “He’s always been good to me.”

I really don’t know what they should be expected to do or say. As Zegler said, this was shot before the allegations came out. He was basically removed from all the press interviews. I don’t know.

I don't understand why women need to always be answering for the crimes of their male co-stars in situations like this. Women of color even more so. The allegations came out after it was shot, why are they even being asked this. Go hound Elgort himself about it ffs.

 

Now that I'm aware the movie was shot before the allegations came out...I agree. It's not a case where you can frame it as "Why are you working with Elgort when the allegations were public news before filming began." So...there's just no point to asking them.

Like...what are they supposed to say? Sorry for working with a rapist who we had no idea was a rapist when filming?

The article itself also states the movie was finished filming months before the allegations. Zegler has most likely had minimal interaction with AG in the last 2 and a half years

 

The article also says she refused to self-quarantine while living with her father who has cancer which is just...so awful
