Have we talked about Paul Thomas Anderson in here? I'm a fan, and for some reason, I either didn't know or didn't remember hearing about him shoving Fiona Apple out of a car. I don't want to drag something up for the sake of dragging something up, but with Licorice Pizza on the way, it seems worth remembering

Chappelle is terminally online. He’s not even doing anything resembling a stand-up bit anymore. Just rambling about every bit of criticism that comes his way and acting like he, a multi-millionaire world beloved comedian, is somehow actually being harmed by the “discourse.”

When in reality the thing that actually *does* potentially jeopardize him is his incessant need to react to whatever criticism comes his way instead of just taking the L and moving on, as it risks growing into something that people who don’t even care about this stuff will grow to associate him with. Like if you’re a fan of Chappelle who is just generally apathetic to trans issues, then how disappointing and annoying would it be to go see him and this is the only shit he does the whole time? Get some perspective dude jfc

 

Totally agree. It's amazing to me how he released a ton of specials and they all pretty much center around how much of a problem he has with trans and gay people. Like, his previous stuff about women wasn't always great, but they weren't the crux of his standup.

I know I've said it before, but his fixation with the LGBTQIA community is super weird. He can't not mentioned, even when it doesn't relate at all, like "8:46." Like, just say you're an old man who is out of touch with the times and society and, as others have said, take the L and make a bunch of jokes about how racist Ohio is or something.
