i don't usually care to say if something's a good apology or not but this might be the worst case of narcissistic gaslighting masquerading as an apology i've ever seen. and it looks like it's worked! incredible stuff, honestly.

 

There is/was a clip on Twitter of someone pausing the movie in scenes showing where they digitally added the same black extra a few times to make it seem like more POC were in large group shots and if it’s true they did that instead of just hiring more POC extras (on top of the main issues of the main characters) that is not a good look

It just sucks because a lot of conservative idiots are posting about how “cancel culture strikes again!” or some dumb shit and it’s like…sometimes jokes do not age well after years and it’s time to retire them but also no one is truly cancelling Charles Barkley over this. He will still have a career regardless of the outcome and for him to be up in arms is dumb. Just accept the joke isn’t acceptable anymore and move on. Jokes about women aren’t funny anymore and people bringing that up isn’t a reason to cry about cancel culture.

 

My favorite part is... there are absolutely ways to joke about *most* things, people just don't like hearing that they have to be empathetic and use critical thinking in their comedy. Or that if they can't do those things, maybe they're simply not funny.

 

I guess he’s retiring in 2 years and “cancel culture” influenced the decision. He’s being ridiculous.
