I feel like Wendy ha been a problematic person in the past but I don’t remember the details. Regardless, this is a bad take and she’s rightfully being called out for it.

 

One of my accounts at work has her on occasionally, and the stuff I hear her say is just so bizarre. I feel she may have or currently have a history with drug use.

i feel like this is one of those rare “gray areas” where 1) people have known about it for so long 2) technically (per Wikipedia) the crime was the filming of the sex act not having sex with a 16 year old because Georgia state law used to have consensual relations allowed at 14(!!!!) and the usual - people in the industry like him.

If we DIDN’T know about the sex tape until the last three years or so then I think he may have been run out of Hollywood (to some extent or at least a few years... at least, sadly, because that’s the world we live in) but because it’s “old news” and well known it’s kind of seen like a DUI or something.

I didn’t know it was taped yikes and Georgia making it legal to take advantage of a child does not make it a gray area.
But I mean this guy gets work for the same reason Woody Allen still has so many supporters in the industry. They don’t really care they just want to latch on to a movement when it’s convenient.

 

I feel like people who film sex tapes or anything in that realm with minors - or minors present - are way less scrutinized because they just filmed the act, which should not be the case. Like Mac DeMarco filmed his friend masturbating at a party with minors present which is gross. My point is we need to hold people who film sexual acts with minors (or minors present) accountable, or at least more accountable than they have been. (I don't think Mac ever apologized or made any statement, for example)

Rob Lowe has never been held accountable for this from what I have seen, and it's never too late to make that happen. Just because it happened a long time ago or in a legal state does not make it any more acceptable. It's still wrong for many reasons.

 

I agree completely and maybe with Manson finally getting shit on for behavior that many knew for years the same will happen with Lowe for the sex tape but it feels like something that everyone’s known for so long now any move against him by people would make me immediately ask, “great, but why say something now and not five, ten, fifteen, TWENTY years ago??”

doesn’t mean they shouldn’t, but it sucks it’s not even seen as a problem

 

The whole praising a male actor for stepping aside to let a woman take the lead role feels gross to me, like it’s not because she is talented enough or most fit for the role it’s just because she’s a woman.
